For people who still don’t get why reverse racism and sexism are not a thing, do you get that there is an inherent difference between:
- A child hitting an adult and an adult hitting a child
- A student making fun of a teacher and a teacher making fun of a student
- A civilian throwing a rock at a policeman and a policeman throwing a rock at a civilian
- An employee screaming at a boss and a boss screaming at an employee
- A subject calling for the execution of the king and a king calling for the execution of a subject
CONGRATULATIONS, you have grasped the very bottom-of-the-barrel basics of POWER STRUCTURE. If you walked around saying that child abuse was just as bad as when a 2-year-old hits her parent when she’s throwing a tantrum people would rightly say that you were an alien who obviously had not grasped the power differential between adults and children. If you said it was okay for a teacher to ridicule his students in front of the class because the student made fun of him with his friends, no one would hire you at a school.
Yet white people, men, and heterosexuals act like when someone makes fun of them that it is EXACTLY THE SAME!! as them ridiculing people who do not have these privileges. So no, “honky” does not equal the n-word, “kill all men” does not equal “bitches should die,” and “straight people lol” does not equal “that’s so gay.” Stop pretending you don’t get why it’s not the same, because YOU FUCKING GET WHY IT’S NOT THE SAME ALREADY.
