Just so it is explained, why exactly is that bad?

Because a lot of women in trollx indirectly self identify as feminist and have trained themselves to instantly dismiss any non female perspective on any issue at all related to gender.

Even if it's in support of a position that's pro-female.

Uuh, no. Feminists don't dismiss non-female perspective on any issue at all related to gender, and if that is what you think feminism means, it's no wonder you get shut down a lot.

NO TRUE SCOT!!!

(Sorry that's not been my experience with people who call themselves feminists. Maybe you mix in circles with fewer idiots. Wouldn't it be nice if there was some agreed-to definition so that I wouldn't have to do fifty questions with each person who tells me they're a feminist and that their version is the Real Thing. This comic sums up my bewilderment on this one. Admittedly it's taken from a different topic, but the obfuscation is the same. Every time someone says to me that they know the definition of what a true scot! is, and why those other people who call themselves the only true scots! both of them lose in my eyes unless one of the groups actually has some valid reason to say why they're ACTUALLY true scots! and the other group are fakers.)

There's a lot of echo box going on, not a whole lot of agreeing to fundamental principles of equity and fairness.

If you look at TrollX, it's pretty easy to get an understanding of feminism. You're acting like there are different sects of feminism, confusing it with individuals interpreting things differently. And like absolutely anything on earth there are people who contort shit to suit their desires. That does not mean it's a no true scot situation.

Also, have you heard of editing as opposed to replying multiple times to the same comment?

You know that a man who doesn't call himself a feminist does not therefore not support equal rights, don't you? People don't have to call themselves feminists in order to support equality.

That is a comment in trollX right now. They're at -50 karma.

Here's another one

If you're a feminist, you need to work on understanding that no one cares about what you find attractive. Male expectations/desires=no1curr.

To clarify, that was from a female feminist.

Someone's getting defensive.

Well.... let's be real. That's just not true. We're literally talking about having to not use the phrase "as a man" for that exact reason.

Uh, no. There are plenty of guys who use the phrase "as a man" or mention their gender but are both respectful about the comments and it's actually relevant to what they're saying who don't get downvoted. It's been said to happen, in this very thread.

This entire thread is about how saying that will make you "have a bad time." I just don't understand where you're coming from. You're INSIDE of a thread talking about how that sentence will get you downvoted.

And there have been plenty of links to threads with women ON THAT SUB saying they don't mind it, and also plenty of men saying they managed to find a way to say it and not have a bad time.

(Btw, I haven't been downvoting you)

    Ok, parties over people.

If you can't discuss these things with civility then you're breaking rule 5. Don't throw insults like these in the future, downvotes are anonymous.

IDK I've had afew of very upvoted comments even after I Identified myself as a man. Discussing MRA and Feminism no less!

I find Trollx to be pretty open to opinions from others and have had some great conversations over there.

But I suppose it depends on HOW you do it right? Depending on your wording you may come off as condescending as opposed to explaining your viewpoint.

To be honest I think my username works against me.

It's just a relic of an internet decision made ten years ago but I seem to be stuck with it.

I manage to hold friendships with females in real life.

I know how that is. When Youtube merged with G+ I was fairly happy. My Youtube name was from a very embarrassing time but I had to many videos tied to the account to make a new one. At long last I could get of my ridiculous name!
