Are these people so ignorant that they cannot possibly extrapolate the definition of misogyny meaning "the hatred of women" to more than just the literal hatred of women? It's more, you know, the explicit or implicit implication that women or womanly things are inferior?

Redditors' misunderstanding of the word misogyny is almost as bad as their misunderstanding of the word homophobia. ("X is not homophobic. X is not afraid of gay people! That's what homophobia is. Literally being terrified of gay people. See "-phobia" at the end? I thought so. Checkmate, le SJW!")

See its hilarious because the actual definition of misogyny including etymology is "hatred for women" or something so close as makes no difference.
