If you believe you are draining others perhaps you should practice an exercise where you give of your own energy. Compare and contrast the experiences

The times in my life where "it" happened the most were times when I was extremely open or passive to the events and energies around me, attempting to be a conduit of God or open channel to the world around me. Since beginning magickal practice I approach life far more actively, sending my self out into my environment more. Now when "it happens" I usually have to do it on purpose or it happens when I am at my most passive, like standing in line at the grocery store or bored at work. I've never played with it on purpose though, I would like to build a test for myself and carry it out but don't know the best way to do so because of the randomness by which life allows me to do it "full force".

Don't let magusitis intimidate you , speak your mind, everyone knows this stuff exists for a long time now and with reading and writing aptitude improving around the world especially in multiple languages and translation and increased contact , public awareness and knowledge of this stuff is inevitable

Many people will shoot speculation here from their assholes. They've done no reading into scholarship themselves. Be conscious of this please whatever you do, know that scholarship and legit research on these topics exist.

Research is done because there are people who practice. Practice isn't speculation.

Of course it is . Your experiences count for nothing if you don't know how to contexualize them or express them.

[–]HierodulosHillbilly Hierophant 2

Practice itself is expression. What are you even talking about?

the ability to understand your experiences and the ability to know you are not insane . its kind of like rocket science but easier to grasp as a concept.

and enough with the homilies please or parables or wise sayings or whatever. you're not too smart sometimes.

Spooky, you have ZERO conversation skills. Normally that means that someone is bad with words and conversation becomes unpleasant, but you don't have the skill to functionally navigate a conversation to the end of a thought often times. Your sources are a great addition to the material on this post and whole subreddit, but you often make NO FUCKING SENSE and are flat - out rude to people who are attempting intellectual dialog. Don't throw insults at people when your own thoughts are frustrated abortions of language. Get your head cool and your shit together, every post on r/occult ends up with a thread of you acting like a jackass because YOU don't get what others are saying.

i'm beginning to believe he is legitimately insane, like newspaper clippings on the walls insane.

Is he always like this, then?

Sad, but true.

Especially sad because despite of that, I like the guy and I think that he provides a lot of useful insight outside of that one flaw.

I totally agree with you but he will never be taken seriously like this. I enjoy his contributions after no more than three messages any thread becomes insults, and insanity.

It's not that hard to understand,

A lot of people when they speak here on the occult they are making things up based on books written by people who have made things up. It has no basis in any cultural tradition or paranormal science.

I only know what I know from cross cultural comparison .

[–]HierodulosHillbilly Hierophant 3

I've given no "homilies or parables or wise sayings", so I'm not sure what you're talking about there.

Practice, honest and true and heartfelt practice, is what grants one "the ability to understand your experiences and the ability to know you are not insane". Practice contextualizes the spirituality of the occultist both in relation to herself/himself and in relation to the world of spirits, and is an expression of that same spirituality.

If you are going to level accusations of unintelligence against others, you might do well to make sure that it is not simply you who lacks the capacity to understand what is being said. Do not confuse your own stupidity for that of someone else.
