Well, I just think that you can't put a child and a dog on the same level. Dogs see a physical cue/motion and react because they have been conditioned to do so by. The kid looks like it is aware what its doing and knows that it is "killing" people. The suicide in the end is kinda shocking to me, I wonder how fucked up the parents are and how the hell the kid learned this.

You don't cognitively understand death until you're about five years old. Most young children will think a dead pet is lost, etc. A toddler understanding death is just straight-up impossible. The kid most likely just saw his parents always flopping over when being "shot," and figured they'd do the same thing--not cognitively different at all from a dog.
