First I need to know what the current mod team thinks about the MaxwellHill situation. He was painted as the bad actor on /r/technology by /u/agentlame and /u/davidreiss666, but davidreiss666 was the one who made the automoderator changes to ban "NSA, Snowden, Manning", etc.

Why did /u/qgyh2 remove MaxwellHill when he reversed those automod changes, and demoted davidreiss666 and others in his crew?

Why did /u/qgyh2 remove MaxwellHill when he reversed those automod changes, and demoted davidreiss666 and others in his crew?

Because the people that were responsible for / complicit with the censorship in the first place managed to trick the community here into thinking it was Max's fault ect... even though he really just wasn't' paying any attention to what DavidRiesse and agentlame were doing. Then this group (or friends of said group) used vote bots to downvote brigade this sub until all other old mods except for q were removed. This sub was literally attacked for a week and had all submission downvoted out of sight day and night mostly by robots. At the time some people were also sufficiently fooled by this group into thinking there was still a real reason to be outraged with them even though there wasn't (the censorship had already stopped because the bad mods were asked to leave and had already left). That didn't help things. What this means is this all happened under what was essentially a false sense of pressure from the "community".

That's why you saw what you saw. It was all caused by people with the most insidious of intentions.

Thanks Creq. You give me some faith in this sub.

/u/davidreiss666 has always been the center of trouble on all the subreddits he modded. Do you know how many subreddits he has been kicked out from for doing the same things there? He has managed to worm his way into so many default subs, only to get removed later on when he gets caught censoring people and causing problems. His favorite activity in /r/worldnews was to censor bad news about Israel and tell people to resubmit it to /r/israel, a notoriously right wing pro-Israel subreddit. Now /u/qgyh2 is a moderator of /r/Israel and he demotes maxwellhill for removing davidreiss666 and reversing the automod censorship? Well it doesn't take a genius to figure out what is going on there. Just wait, he is going to beg for a mod position on another default sub, and suddenly people will be complaining about censorship.

I don't know much about the old mod team or what their motives were, but the new team's number one concern is the trust of the community.

I don't know what that graph is. There is no description, title, or y-axis.

I also don't know why /u/qgyh2 removed maxwellhill, but davidreiss666 stepped down on his own.

Graph has a title, and a source (Vice). It shows the number of times articles with "NSA" in the title were shown on /r/technology. After /u/davidreiss666 banned that keyword, it was only shown when MaxwellHill manually approved it. I asked Max, and he didn't know much about automod at the time.

You are correct. It was mostly davidreiss666 ect.. that managed the automod. They now deny all this vehemently and are trying to rewrite history to paint them in a better light. Good thing there was a lot of news coverage :)

[–]tigersharkwushen_ 0 ポイント1 ポイント

The original submission of the graph by /ur/creq has no title and no source.

[–]agentlame -4 ポイント-3 ポイント

That's not true at all. max and anu knew about the filters for months and did nothing, and q himself approved removing politics from the sub. They didn't care about the sub until David, Sky and I brought in community mods.

You can try to re-write history, but the facts are still out there.

[–]zonkerton 8 ポイント9 ポイント

Facts are facts. You and DavidReiss666 banned keywords around the most important debate of this decade.

[–]agentlame -3 ポイント-2 ポイント

I banned? I thought you cared about facts?

You fought the battle along with DR. And fucked over a good guy with good intentions who helped build Reddit.
