This change seems rather pretentious, especially considering how many commented on the post you linked, there's obviously little interest in the change. Since when did the execution mattered more than content for BTG..

Meme generators just make the panels unfunny and they remind me of /r/AdviceAnimals (which isn't good).

If you define "funny" by the text's font instead of the content, then there's no helping you. That's a fucked up way to approach comedy. Shitty paint bubbles are a pain to read.

No it's not. It's in no way moronic. It's 100% reasonable. It's not even that big of a deal. I don't see why you're so butthurt about them being banned. It's not like this sub is going to drop in quality.

Probably because memes are low effort and usually those subs want to focus on meaningful discussions, like /r/games, while this is a picture sub. Using impact font doesn't make images into memes.
