Pretty sure Zimmerman felt threatened when he started getting assaulted, not when he saw a hood.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Zimmerman essentially stalk/follow the kid around because he looked suspicious, then confront him? To me that sounds a lot like instigating a fight, then shooting someone. Not to say Treyvon was a saint, but he was being followed by some sketchy ass guy for no apparent reason.

It's worth noting that following someone in public is perfectly legal. While punching another person is battery.

Also, following someone doesn't imply stalking in a legal sense.

Stalking can be defined as the willful and repeated following, watching and/or harassing of another person. Unlike other crimes, which usually involve one act, stalking is a series of actions that occur over a period of time.

Was Zimmerman wrong for what he did? Most likely. But the real question is, was he legally justified? There's a difference.

He wouldn't have been if it weren't for the stand your ground law. According to the law he was absolutely not guilty.

But let's be realistic, he was following around some kid he thought looked 'suspicious' on the street while he was armed with a weapon he was evidently intending on using. I would say stalking (not the legal definition, but the dictionary definition) someone on the street with a weapon, and having that behavior lead to a confrontation, should more than constitute some sort of crime, if only just some minor assault. It's the same thing as someone having the right of way at an intersection deliberately slamming into another car because they technically can (interestingly enough an accident can be deemed your fault if that's the case).

Zimmerman didn't use stand your ground at any point during his defense. He simply argued he was in fear of his life because his head was being smashed into the ground. He had no chance to flee, as he was pinned down, therefor stand your ground didn't apply.

Is that what really happened? Only he knows the truth. But stand your ground had nothing to do with this case. That much we do know.

I think you're wrong. I believe he followed him, but it was Martin that confronted him (because he was following him).

And they had a series of recent robberies in their neighborhood. It was not like they had no reason to follow around people they didn't know/recognize.

Maybe Zimmerman should have thought about the possibility that his victim would fight back before he attacked him.

[–]trytostrangleme -4 ポイント-3 ポイント

Zimmerman made no indication that he was going to attack someone. Typically people with those intentions don't call the police.

I remember a story once of someone calling the cops to report a murder by an unknown assailant, whilst their victim called to report the same. They then murdered the victim and pretended otherwise.

And I am sure Travyon Martin felt threatened when he was being followed by Zimmerman

[–]trytostrangleme 0 ポイント1 ポイント

Yup. I probably would too.

Pretty sure Zimmerman shot a guy because he was black.

Nah man, it was the skittles. Do you know what the food industry puts in these things? God damn chem-trail-infested bullshit, I tell ya. And their fucking black brains aren't developed enough to resist the influence of the joo shill homosexual cultural Marxist mangina gangsta culture agenda TV sells them. They're nothing but skittle-buying sheeple now, spreading autism-causing vaccines in the water supply through their piss. Zimmerman was self-defending, I say. Think of the utility he saved! So many poor god-fearing white kids would have to be subjected to this Illuminati plot to eliminate global warming through the HAARP-produced CO2 elimination nanomachines in those skittles. You think it was just the hood? Hah. You need more Alex Jones in your life. Know how many skittles executives the WTC had when it went down? Oh, yeah, I went there. It was all an inside job to boost skittles sales, round up our guns, and have that Kenyan Muslim of a president defame the just cause of NAMBLA. Did I mention skittles?

[–]StoicSophist 1 ポイント2 ポイント

Of course it wasn't his hood. It was his skin.

[–]trytostrangleme -1 ポイント0 ポイント

Yup, Zimmerman had a clear history of racism.

Oh wait, it's the opposite of that.
