Look…I’m going to level with you.  Now, I don’t understand what this entire “crusade” is about.  The only reason I got into all of this was because I saw people I knew were decent, good people being bullied and harassed because they were unfairly being associated with a handful of assholes who go out of their way to stir up drama.  I’m involved with this fanbase, which means that I interact with the people in it on a regular basis.  It’s those people that originally made me want to watch the show, because of how bonded they seemed, and how much it seemed to bring them genuine happiness.

In the course of this, I also happened to notice that, on tumblr in general, activism is being used as an excuse for people to be bullies without accepting responsibility for it.  There are right and wrong ways to go about these things.  Do you truly believe that spreading lies and slander about others is ever going to do anything other than make you look petty?

During all of this, I have tried my best to maintain my cool.  Unfortunately, I was pushed too far earlier this morning, and allowed my anger to get the better of me.  I have tolerated literally months of constant stalking and harassment now, while I have watched the people in your camp repeatedly threaten others with death and violence over things as trivial as the nominations in a fandom poll.  I have watched someone who wasn’t even a part of the fandom have her family attacked and put in jeopardy simply because she “dared” to contribute a relevant piece of information to a post.

All of this behavior is not helping you, or anyone else.  If anything, it’s only making people care that much LESS about social issues, because you can only cry wolf just so many times before the other villagers stop listening.

I used to be just as misguided once.  And that’s also part of why I’m trying to explain to others that there is nothing to be gained from fear-mongering and hostility.  What is it that you hope to accomplish in all this?  Because you certainly haven’t accomplished anything thus far than basically turning yourselves into pariahs with your own behavior.  Is that what you really wanted?  To alienate yourselves?  If so, congratulations.  You succeeded spectacularly.  I just hope, for your sakes, that none of this follows you anywhere outside the internet.

Even after everything that has been thrown at me, I have still made it a point to urge others against harassing other blogs.  When people like you were being misgendered, I made it a point of scolding and discouraging such practices, because I firmly believe that every human being is who they feel they are on the inside, and that everyone deserves that basic level of respect.  I have tried to maintain a level of civility, and to maintain a standard of credibility by finding sources for my claims, because I know that lies do nothing but make a fool of the liar.

I doubt we will ever see eye-to-eye, and I can’t claim to know the reasons behind your actions.  All I know is that I never expected to become a lightning rod of hatred simply for trying to stand up for what’s right.  And I certainly never expected to be a symbol of anything for anyone (I’m pretty sure my complete inability to manage my inbox is a good indicator of this).

All I, or anyone else, want is a return to when this site in general truly was accepting of all people, and wasn’t merely pretending to be.  What is transpiring on it now isn’t encouraging equality, or even tolerance.  It’s only pushing people farther apart, and making them LESS likely to want to accept others’ differences, and definitely less likely to take social issues the least bit seriously.  I can’t imagine why that isn’t more obvious, nor why it suddenly became acceptable to blame millions for the actions of so few, whether it be over fandoms, race, sexuality, or gender identity.

You should know better than that.  Everyone should know better than that, and honestly, I’m pretty sure that they do.  Why they choose to ignore it is a mystery that even I can’t unravel.

TL;DR: my life is tough because people on the internet just can’t seem to agree with my opinions.

EDIT: if you’ve been stalked and harassed like you say you are/were so much, maybe that’s indicative of something you’re doing wrong. like, idk, saying bronies have a right to make fap material without needing to block it from access to children? like, i get it. you were harassed, stalked, whatever. but just keep in mind that you started all of it by saying “pinkie is a liar” right at the beginning of DWM. Cause and effect.
