Dude needs to eat a little less and move more, maybe talk to a doctor. He's being pretty dramatic...

That just made me angry. I'm not sympathetic. If you get so fucking fat that you have to add dramatic background music and explain that you thought you were gonna die from going on a walk for fucks sake stop eating so much. We get ONE fucking life people. Its disgusting to see people cripple themselves because they like cheeseburgers too much.

thing is, you can eat a lot of cheeseburgers and be a normal weight. it's fat people eating a lot of cheeseburgers AND a bunch of other shit and wondering why other people eating cheeseburgers aren't hamplanets like them.

Meh, let people spend their shitty life whatever way they wanna spend it, if he wanna waste it on cheeseburgers I don't give a shit. But after you've made the decision to don't give a shit about your weight don't complain and be all melodramatic about you being fat. Either man the fuck up and lose the weight or shut the fuck up.

There is a point where even simple actions such as walking become immensely difficult for an obese person such as this guy. While it's easy for someone at a healthy weight to suggest it, a number of factors complicate the situation for the person trying to lose weight.

Now I'm not trying to excuse him, his weight or his behaviors, because I don't know anything about him. But what I am trying to say is that we shouldn't try to project OUR beliefs and abilities onto someone else, because as I said, even walking is difficult for someone as large as him.

I don't even blame him for making this video about his attempts at weight loss; when you're that big, and are constantly surrounded by people mocking you for your weight, or giving suggestions on how to lose it, and basing their entire perception of you on your size, I bet it definitely wears on you, and this is just his way of putting his feelings on the matter out there.

We don't know anything about his situation, and shouldn't judge him as if we do. Maybe he straight up doesn't give a shit, and that's his problem, but maybe he's just gotten to what he sees as the point of no return, and in that case I feel bad for him and wish him the best. We don't know, and shouldn't act like we do.

Plus everyone on the internet loves to give their shitty weight loss advice. If you want to help someone lose weight let a doctor be the one to suggest the correct diet or exercise for that individual and try just offering some encouragement. Saying "just go for walks you fat fuck" to people on the internet isn't helping guys like the one in this video.

Exactly. It's akin to screaming at a mentally challenged child; these people have literally eaten themselves to the point of it being a disability. Now deciding whose fault that is is a whole different discussion, but what people don't get is that it isn't just a matter of motivation: some of these people REALLY want to lose weight, but just don't see how it is possible when the simplest of tasks are ridiculously difficult.

I'm looking through this thread and some of the responses are disgusting. Like holy shit, what is with the vehement hate for some guy just making a dumb video about bread?

I think a number of people take some things too far on this subreddit. Like ok, he's a fat guy doing a stupid thing on YouTube; but that doesn't make him some sort of revolting subhuman. He is clearly big, and he is clearly lonely, but what he is doing isn't hurting a damn thing, and the way some of the people in this thread are acting is inexcusable.

If someone can provide some examples of him being a douche or something, then maybe some of these reactions could be justified; but as it stands it seems like people are just being horrible for no reason. :/

[–]dat_username_tho 2 ポイント3 ポイント

I think if you dug deep you'd find that a lot of people on this sub hate fat people in general. I understand making fun of stupid neckbeards, but some people on here seem so fucking hateful.

For real. Joking about an arrogant, self important douche is one thing, but singling people out on the basis of looks or weight is uncool.

Based on the sub's sidebar definition of "neckbeard," the guy in the video doesn't even fit into that category; yet people still upvote it and laugh at him and HATE him for some reason, just because he's fat. :/ It's really sad, and I don't like seeing how this sub is devolving into a center for bullying.

If someone can provide some examples of him being a douche or something

No one is obligated to provide sources for their opinions.

It's as simple as this, if he's doing something hurtful to others it's reasonable to project some sort of dislike towards him. If you're just being cruel and hateful to someone cause they seem like an easy target, it's because you're a piece of shit. You aren't obligated to give a source, it just makes you an asshole.

you're a piece of shit

it just makes you an asshole.

Calling someone fat: not okay
Calling someone a piece of shit: totally okay
Calling someone an asshole: totally okay

I'm not talking about calling people fat, the fact that you're defensively trying to pull that strawman pretty much proves my point. Just cause someone has an obvious issue, like their weight, you think it's open season for whatever cruel comments make you feel better about your own life.

You can hide behind such iron logic as "No one is obligated to provide sources for our cyberbullying" but I'm 100% willing to state and stand behind the reasons I don't like you. You and others of the same mindset take a lighthearted subreddit created to make fun of neckbeard stereotypes and make it about covering up your own insecurities by trying to put other people down.

Show me all those cruel comments of mine. You don't even know who you're mad at. You just want to call people names, which is (according to you) "cyberbullying"

You are truly the knight of Internet justice, aren't you?

Just fuck off already, you're clearly just here to start arguments. The very first comment you responded to was about how horrible some of the commenters in this thread were being towards the man in the video and you went out of your way to stand up for those comments.

I'm not the one replying to my posts, telling people to fuck off, calling them names, and (in a deliciously ironic twist) whining about how people shouldn't insult each other.

That would be you.

And yet I'm argumentative. Sure.

I'm going to try and take this really slowly just to confirm that you're intentionally being dense and twisting things cause you have nothing better to do.

The entire point of the original comment of this thread, that you have been replying to this entire time, was about people making degrading comments about a person knowing nothing about him other than he was overweight, lives with his mother, and made one bad attempt at a funny Youtube video.

You, being the tremendous scholar that you are, stood up for these intrepid internet saviors who are working tirelessly to rid the world of obesity. The point of your comment? "These people don't have to provide sources." Now why did you post that? Obviously there's no law that says they need to give a source for every hurtful thing they post on the internet so they don't need you to show up and fight for their rights.

In reality the only possible reasons for you to post what you did and start all of this nonsense was either that you just wanted to start fights on the internet as the tireless reddit warrior you are. Or most likely you didn't want people to feel like they should stop and think before going through the posts on this subreddit looking to degrade individuals rather than poking fun at stereotypes.

Ultimately, had you read any of my early posts, you'd see what I objected to was not describing someone as something insulting (as I have no hesitation in saying you are an asshole.) In reality what I objected to was the idea that insults should be used to demean people who are unattractive for no other reason than they make easy targets to scum like you. The reason I openly insult you is because you've shown the quality of your character by stepping out to defend random acts of hate on the internet, by arguing with a posts whose only point was that this subreddit should be free of those random acts of hate.

I may have never struggled with weight like this guy has, but I know what it's like to have something like your weight spiral out of your control. To have people judging this guy and put him down for things that hurt no one else and that he has to suffer through every moment of his life is wrong. Whereas you go out of your way to endorse these meanspirited and judgemental comments, and yet are offended at the idea that someone would insult you.

So there you have it, I had time to kill but i'm kind of bored of this so now you can fuck off for real this time. Be a cancer in another subreddit, like r/cringe, who are happy to welcome posts for the sake of degrading people on the internet you've never met for no other reason than they are bad at making youtube videos.

You, being the tremendous scholar that you are, stood up for these intrepid internet saviors who are working tirelessly to rid the world of obesity

mmmm that's some good sarcasm

"These people don't have to provide sources." Now why did you post that?

Because someone asked for sources.

In reality the only possible reasons for you to post what you did and start all of this nonsense was either that you just wanted to start fights on the internet as the tireless reddit warrior you are.

Is that the only possible reason? Really? Well, I guess you've got your mind made up about it.

I have no hesitation in saying you are an asshole.

Calling me an asshole - check. Am I a scholarly asshole, or an assholish scholar? Oh, maybe I'm a scholar who specializes in the research of butts.

Tell me, what was that thing you were angry about?

making degrading comments about a person knowing nothing about him other than...

I'll stop you right there. Hopefully you see what you did. If not, well, maybe one day.

Be a cancer in another subreddit

Calling me a cancer - check.

degrading people on the internet you've never met

Like calling them asshole, cancer, etc? That kind of thing?

EDIT: I just parsed your username. Is this kind of behavior to be expected in the wonderful land where Friendship is Magic?

You don't have to give a source, but you're an idiot if you just go around forming baseless opinions on shit, especially when it's so hateful.

but you're an idiot

Calling someone fat: not okay.
Calling someone an idiot: totally okay

One is a matter of looks, and the other of personality. While a person can certainly lose weight with motivation, it's a lot harder than just not acting like an asshole. Also, if you want to get all fucking pedantic over my choice of words rather than what my actual message was, then it's clear that there's nothing to discuss.

Let me get this straight... Insults are bad. Except for insults about personality, because that's totally different. That's a very convenient delineation, considering it allows you to be mad about calling people names while at the same time it allows you to call people names.

I guess this is one of those "it's not okay when other people do it" things.

I'm saying that making someone feel bad on the basis of their appearance is not ok, while making someone feel bad on the basis of their chosen and unpleasant personality traits is.

Fat people aren't obligated to change, regardless of whether or not it is in their best interests, because their actions aren't negatively affecting anyone else. However, you should feel bad if you are unpleasant to people, because that is both something that you choose to do, and it is hurting others.

It still comes down to the idea of "it's what's on the inside that counts." Whether you're fat or not, people are allowed to call you out when you act like an ass, because it is something that you chose. I'm not mad about people calling names, I'm mad about people singling people out with insults directed at their appearance, which is completely irrelevant.

Fat people aren't obligated to change, regardless of whether or not it is in their best interests

No one is obligated to change. Not people on the Internet, not fat people, not you, not me.

Actions can negatively affect other people, and that sucks. But it isn't limited to assholes. If the guy in this video dies an early death because of his poor health, there will be people negatively affected by that.

Personally, I don't care if someone's fat or not. This comment is the first time I've even mentioned the guy in the video. I only mention him now because you seem to think insults have grave consequences, but lifestyles don't.

And you can look at the posts here... You call people assholes, pieces of shit, douchebags... And you feel superior the whole time. Meanwhile, I haven't called anyone any names at all and you're still upset. Instead of rationalizing why you can say whatever you want but everyone else should censor themselves, you could practice what you preach.

I'll admit, you have a point. I'm sorry if my response offended you, it's just that I used the word "idiot" in an offhand manner more to describe the act of generalizing and making assumptions as idiotic, rather than to call the actual person an idiot.

From there I did get increasingly worked up, but it's just because I genuinely don't like seeing when people feel the need to be so horrific to strangers on the internet, like this guy. I feel that it defeats the purpose of this sub, besides being plain inexcusable behavior. But you do make a good point, in that it doesn't justify my acting the same way just to make a point.

I'm not offended. I don't care about insults. I just figured that since you're against assholes, you might want to recognize it when you're acting the same way as they do.
