This season continually blows me away in quality, hilarity, drama and elements of surprise. It's the best show I've ever seen.

I haven't cried over a TV episode in many years but this was a performance for the ages by the entire cast.

Is it just me or is this seriously the best season of TV ever?

I am personally under the opinion that this was one of the best episodes of any show on tv

I remember in his last special he implied (I paraphrase) that "maybe" it's US soldiers fault for getting killed and it shouldn't be shocking that if they go to another country and shoot at people that they get killed.

I think that's one of the more edgy things he's said that went completely unnoticed or unchallenged. Cunt, piss, shit bad words are one thing, but challenging one of the most 'sacred' ideals of our society is another. The only other comic I can think of that challenged the 'support our troops' trope is Carlin. Of course Louie, on the other hand has done USO and other support shit so maybe he get's a pass.

Stanhope did a similar routine on it. I've heard some others as well that I can't name off the top of my head right now. I grew up in a liberal area so maybe that is why it doesn't shock me. Heard that sentiment growing up.

Louie is a great stand up, he just is less edgy with his message now. I don't like him as much as a lot of people reddit. Personally I prefer Burr and Stanhope. He is still one of the best and a living legend. I just miss old darker Louie.

You're probably right. Those were the worst lines (that are actually funny in context) I could think of from his appearances. I never really thought of him as a shock comic, so I don't know why people are acting like he used to say stuff like "I hate niggers" when he did four hours on the show every couple of weeks. This is what happens when you create a forum about a very specific topic. A negative feedback loop is created in which users feed off each other's insanity, and everyone becomes more obsessed than they would be in the absence of that forum. No negative comments are allowed and people are banned for criticizing the topic at hand.

A good example of this is Sonic the Hedgehog. Somehow an affinity for this video game has turned into a full-blown furry community full of broken people. One fun thing to do is to go to Google Image Search, type in any first name and then "the Hedgehog" after it. Watch the autism unfold right in front of your eyes.
