Being a gay man makes you an oppressor?? Well fuck me?! Looks like George Takei and Elton are actually evil!!

Because Gay Men would totally have an interest in women!

Feminists being homophobic? You don’t say!
-Indigo

Actually this IS an issue. There are gay men who think that just by being gay they have a free pass to touch women wherever it however they want.
My fiancé once put a dude through a window because he was groping girls and when they would complain he would make the excuse that he was gay so they shouldn’t be uncomfortable.

Gay men do this a lot and it IS. NOT. OK.

Gay men are literally some of the most misogynist people I know. There is absolutely nothing “homophobic” about calling this shit out. (But what else do you expect from an anti-SJ blog?)

When I was in high school an older gay male student who was a member of an extracurricular threatre troupe I was part of cornered me in an empty classroom and grinded up on me, rubbing his erect penis against my thigh through his pants, and refused to let me up when I asked him to until someone else came in the room and made him let me go. When I accused him of sexual harrassment he claimed it was physically impossible for him to harrass me that way because he was gay (everyone must have believed him too, because he never got in trouble).
In college there was a trend amongst the gay males in our LGBTQ+ club space to approach the female identified folk while they were least expecting it and pinch their nipples hard through their t-shirts. This was done to me on several occasions by several different gay men and was terribly startling and incredibly painful each time. They would not stop when asked to claiming it was not sexual harrassment because they were not attracted to the women they were obviously harrassing, it was all just teasing, just a bit of good clean fun. During the two years I spent in and out of that club space I also had my breasts and ass groped on a regular basis, something that was completely normalized in that space, and had a gay man try and swipe my genitals through my jeans against my will once.
So, gay men can most definitely be oppressors. Gay men can most definitely be misogynistic. Gay men can be just as dangerous to women as straight men are, and there is absolutely nothing homophobic about calling that shit the fuck out when it happens and letting them know in no uncertain terms that being gay does not give a man carte blanche to touch a woman’s body however he wants.

If gay men cannot oppress women because they are not sexually attracted to them, then that implies all misogyny is motivated by sexual attraction. Misogyny is not motivated by sexual attraction. It is motivated by a man’s desire to be superior to a woman, to dominate a woman, to put a women in a position of weakness and a man in a position of strength. Being a gay man does not make you exempt from being able to do that.

"It’s okay, I’m gay" is not an excuse to be crass and awful to women.
I once had a guy on Skype saying some awful, aggressive and sexist comments. I asked him to stop because it was making me seriously uncomfortable. He didn’t apologize. Or acknowledge that it made me uneasy. He just said he was allowed to say those things because he was gay.
He felt he was within his right to say those things to me, regardless of my comfort level.
Gay men are not exempt. If a woman is uncomfortable with what you’re doing, “it’s okay, because I’m gay” SHOULD NEVER BE UTTERED. If she’s uncomfortable with ANYTHING you do, you are never allowed to say “it’s okay because…” If she’s uncomfortable with what you’re doing, it’s not okay. END. OF. STORY.

The majority of any physical harassment in high school was by gay guys. Whether it was slapping my ass or groping my tits (or one other way was one would tug at my bra straps just to make my tits jiggle). I’ve had my neck licked and hair pulled. I’ve also had my nipples pinched through my bra.But you know, no one care about how uncomfortable it made a lot of my other girl friends and I bc ‘lol he’s gay it’s not ~like that~’.

Just gonna emphasize this bit written above by whatwithscienceandall:
Misogyny is not motivated by sexual attraction.
Misogyny is not motivated by sexual attraction.
MISOGYNY IS NOT MOTIVATED BY SEXUAL ATTRACTION.
Also… isn’t it “”funny”” how lesbians are always accused of being man-haters/misandrists simply because of their orientation, but people leap out of their chairs to defend gay men from accusations of misogyny when they are actually being misogynistic?
