By their creator? Citation, when did God tell people they deserve life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

This isn't a consecutive standpoint. This is am American standpoint.

All men are most certainly NOT created equal. He knew this, but of course he wouldn't get any support if he didn't keep up the facade.

Explain your position that men are not created equal.

I'm clearly not Estmendax but if you're born without legs you are not created equal.

It doesn't mean equal form a physical standpoint. It means that everyone is the same on the inside and everyone deserves the same rights. Then again there were slaves at this time so ya.

To be fair, some people have developmental disabilities. They're maybe equal from a physical standpoint, but not mental.

I phrase it weird. It means equally entitled to life's freedoms. That's the intended interpretation.

When Jefferson wrote that, surly he knew that the people being born into slavery were not created equal to those born free.

Well ya but ya know... Hypocrisy and the American government and all.

Equal in value as a human - I get that. I agree with that.

What I disagree with is the egalitarian perfect-world undertones of the post - irregardless if you meant it that way or not.

In the eyes of the law...

Created Equal is not the same as Equal Results. We are all created equal, it's just the choices we make and the opportunities available to us that are not the same.

Interesting fact, he meant men as in males. At the time women were not allowed to vote. This quote is difficult for liberals to use as their spring board for equality because of the word men. I've seen 'men' taken out of it before (... all are created equal...)
