some races don't produce (as much/visible) facial hair either are, in my limited knowledge, genetically less inclined to produce facial hair, and as far as i have been able to determine, statistically these include native americans and segments of asian populations

edit: this comment was intended as an observation of a genetic characteristic that is back by scientific data and not as a derogatory statement toward any race or people

It would seem the ignorance lacing this thread is your own. How quick to play the race card! SOME monks, particularly those of Asian descent will frequently not display facial hair because they are of the mongoloid race which often does not produce, or produces very sparse, facial hair.

you're just smack of ignorance here. You just stated some monks will not display facial hair because of they are of "the mongoloid race". I will tell you that's not true and you only said that because you are a white person who are ignorant of Asians. Your ignorance is really much like a redneck. If you say one more time that those of "Mongoloid" race has problem growing facial hair, I will say again that your words are similar to that of a redneck in term of sheer ignorance.

I will tell you this that every male grows facial hair, the only difference is amount and speed of growth. That statement along with whatever you saying is incorrect. Again, please tell me that I have little or no facial or body hair.

I have seen my share of ignorant racist shit on reddit or the internet at large. It's kind of sad to see it here. If you or the other white guy decide that is what you are going to believe in, I have no thing else to say except, I find people like yourself in every single Western sangha. Some times, they go so far that they would reject Asian teachers and insist on being taught by a white "spiritual friends", while actual lamas from India are ignored. I am not that surprised... in the hospital, you're going to find a bunch of terminal patients.

Thank you for the kind words even though I don't believe they needed to be banned necessarily. It's a practice to deal with these folks w/o getting angry, so I do relish the opportunity to be flamed by so-called Buddhist who held racist views.

You'll be surprised at how many Buddhist sanghas are almost openly racist. I know of one which insisted on white teachers even though there are very qualified Tibetan lamas who stayed at the center. They have to look for things to do because no one attend their teachings. The white "teachers" are just those who has been Buddhist a few years longer, and they attract a lot people, almost 100% of them white. It's quite sad.
