Moderation Policy
Due to previous abuse of readers in r/Islam by a few trolls determined to hijack this subreddit, we have taken measures to prevent posting here by “throwaway accounts.” We understand there are valid uses for throwaway accounts such as privacy, so if your throwaway account is moderated without cause, please message the moderators and we will take any appropriate action.
Also, as a result, we have slowly and reluctantly developed very little tolerance for bad behavior of all kinds. As a result, we have resorted to banning people for any of the following:
• Insulting, generally rude behavior, context-free insults.
• Obscene, NSFW images, including gore. Some exceptions have been made for posts with artistic and literary merit, but in general do not post anything NSFW.
• Attempting to create an upvote or downvote campaign by linking something in r/islam somewhere else. Feel free to resubmit links of interesting content from other subreddits, but do not cross-link directly to a post or thread in this subreddit in order to create an upvote or downvote campaign. Similarly, please do not link to other sub-reddits.
• Anyone who attempts to circumvent a ban with a new account will be banned again. Moderator discretion is employed to our best ability here.
Please refrain from proselytizing and preaching a set of religious beliefs or ideologies in other people's “self posts” that are different from what the OP is asking for. Be helpful to the OP or please leave the thread alone.
Avoid sectarian fitna. Feel free to advocate for your personal beliefs, but do not insult people for being a member of a different religious group or different religion altogether. Do not call people "kafir", "heretic", "infidel", "munafiq", or other terms meant as religious judgment or insult, unless they specifically identify themselves by that label – it will be understood by moderators as flamebait/trolling. Religious intolerance is also a violation of Reddit's TOS. Violaters of this rule, depending on context, may be banned without warning.
