/u/Lilday made a post on /r/nerdcubed in which he requests that Nerdcubed gives him/his brother credit as his video came out first. Lilday continuously argues throughout the thread that Nerdcubed obviously stole the video idea so that he could get the views and money.

/u/Mattophobia , the /r/nerdcubed moderater and community manager of Nerdcubed, counters this argument and soon makes this official statement:

I work for Dan, and he can be an arse a lot of the time. But he did not copy your video. Do the math, it's extremely probable that someone else would have found the glitch. Dan doesn't copy videos, he just doesn't. I've known him for quite a while. You want to act like a child and shout for attention, try and grab 15 minutes in the limelight? Sure, go ahead. Just don't do it here.

/u/Lilday seems to get upset by this, and consequently bans /u/Mattophobia from /r/GrandTheftAutoV

Alright so I'm the mod responsible for this. Explanation below:

I banned him for his inappropriate response in removing my post from his subreddit. I'm aware that two wrongs don't make a right, however it is the only way to bring attention to the issue as he silenced my post.

This is blown way out of proportion to be honest.

Here is a break-down for those who may not understand what is going on:

Side note - it is extremely childish on both sides, but entertaining no-less.

My younger brother found a glitch yesterday, and asked me to video it.
I made the video and it hit the front page of this sub, hitting 8,000+ views.

Around (just under I believe) 24hrs later, A similar video was uploaded to YouTube by NerdCubed (Dan). Link to his video Here.
The video is extremely similar, and clearly copied. The same car is used - (which has been released for under 48 hours) - proving that this video is definitely new. This is also interesting as people claim "The glitch has been known for ages for other cars".
I am yet to see any proof that this glitch was known by anybody prior to my video.
I created a thread in their NedCubed Subreddit, Here.
I was respectful, and asked only for credit to my brother. (I make motorcycle videos - not gaming videos - and I don't monetize them...I have nothing to gain here).
If I cared about views/hits/ads/monetizing my videos - I'd just pin a video to the top of the front page. That isn't how I do things...and that would absolutely be using the community to my own gain. I made the video for my brother.
I was careful not to break any subreddit rules so I contacted Dan via twitter. No response.
My post was removed on the basis that I broken rules 2 & 4 of /r/nerdcubed - which I did not.
I received no response from Dan on twitter.
I then banned the mod who removed my post (again, I'm aware two wrongs don't make a right) but it brought attention to the situation. His ban will be revoked.
Dan has responded denying the video was copied. Make your own decisions on that one.

This all comes after the following comments:

inb4 someone copies the video to make a new one with dubstep music. Plus telling everyone to subscribe and like a million times

And:

Good vid, none of the 'like, subscribe, take my mother to dinner' bullshit and no 'watch me drive around LS' crap...Solid.

Neither of them even read this sub so IDK why they care - but in the same way I care about credit in the video - it is the principle.

TLDR Nothing of any value was gained today by anybody. Just a bunch of Internet points, opinions, and sloppy moderating on both sides.

Don't try to make Matt seem like he's the bad guy here. Dan might have heard it from someone else think about that. And you posted on his sub causing a shit storm of events where Matt had to delete it because you were being a whiny child. You then proceeded to ban Matt from the gta v sub (Which he never frequents so it makes no sense to do it) because someone else found a glitch that you were apparently the first to find (Spoiler: You weren't) Ban me, ban anyone you want it won't change what you did. You fucked up and you have to apologize about it. Also Dan using the car that was released in the high life dlc is obviously going to be used since it's new and now according to you since anyone uses it is immediately copying. This is going to become another /r/technology scandal. TL:DR You were being a shitty mod and you fucked up
