I'm confused how the Hernandez news isn't fit for the sub but the Greg Hardy news from yesterday is.

[–]Eaglesrasherdk 13 ポイント14 ポイント

Greg Hardy is an NFL player.

That's a silly distinction. The only reason that Hernandez isn't a current NFL player is his involvement in the very case we're trying to discuss. Colt Lyerla isn't an NFL player. Discussing him is still appropriate.

EDIT: Why was the Tyler Sash drunken scooter tazing incident deemed fit for discussion? Should we delete the Jim Kelly cancer posts?

Thank You!!! Former player news is still welcome here with Jim Kelly and Tyler Sash being the two most recent examples, so why not Hernandez? Its been just under a year he has been out of the league and he is still a relevant topic.

Neither is Keyshawn Johnson but this post from 3 weeks ago didn't get deleted: http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/23lt7n/keyshawn_johnson_arrested_on_domestic_violence/

Is the new standard that once a player no longer is an active NFL player we no longer allow a post on them? For Hernandez it's still relevant too since he hasn't been found guilty yet.

So articles about former players and any brain injuries they may have isn't fit for this sub either because they aren't currently players.

NOT RELEVENT.

I asked this else where and got downvoted into oblivion. What I am confused about is this. If we can only make posts pertaining to a current NFL player, then shouldn't all HOF posts also be removed.

I personally would much prefer a rule where we can discuss news relating to both past and current NFL players/coaches.

I can see why they need the TMZ rule as I don't want to see "Dr.Dre buys Bradys Cali home". But I just don't see whats wrong with HOF posts or any current event news that impacts the NFL.

So therefore all posts about retired NFL players should be deleted/banned.

Greg Hardy is still in the NFL.

So the fuck what? Hernandez was an elite level NFL player this time last year. Like it or not, he will always be NFL-related. I don't care if he gets out of prison in 40 years and commits another couple of murders...it's still related

Herenandez could still come back to the NFL. He has not been convicted yet, correct? And, his current situation still has ramifications for our team.

[–]49ersLaurentProper 2 ポイント3 ポイント

So we can't post about past greats because they aren't still in the NFL?

[–]Patriotsjwishbone 0 ポイント1 ポイント

This. I am getting relaly confused by the whole Hernandez news isn't allowed to be posted as he isn't in the NFL. Would that mean we can't talk about draft prospects as technically they are not in the NFL, can we not talk about HOF people as they aren't in the NFL. It just seems so restictive.
