Some of the following accessories have already been mentioned.

Adapters

	Minolta FS-1100
	Adapts old Minolta AF flashes (e.g. 2800AF) to the new iISO flash shoe. The flash works in TTL-OTF mode for film cameras, but the AF assist light can not be used. The adapter is not intended to adapt other ISO shoe flashes to the Minolta system. For Multi-Interface flashes use the ADP-AMA adapter instead (see below).
	Minolta FS-1200
	Adapts new Minolta AF flash to the old ISO flash shoe (eg. of the 7000AF). The flash works in TTL-OTF mode for film cameras, but the AF assist light can not be used. The adapter is not intended to adapt the Minolta flash system to other systems with an ISO shoe.
	Sony FA-HS1AM
	Adapts ISO-518 flash to new Sony/Minolta flash shoe. Contains voltage protection circuitry.
	Sony FA-SA1AM
	Mechanical adapter for ISO-518 flash to new Sony/Minolta flash shoe. No contacts, no electronics. Included with Sony HVL-RLAM.
	Sony ADP-MAA
	Adapter to mount iISO flashes on Multi-Interface cameras.
	Sony ADP-AMA
	Adapter to mount Multi-Interface flashes on iISO cameras.
	Sony ADP-MAC
	Adapter to mount Sony AIS accessories on Multi-Interface cameras.
	Sony FA-MA1AM
	Adapter to mount Sony HVL-RLAM or Sony HVL-MT24AM flash head onto DT 30/2.8 Macro or DT 50/1.8 lenses.

	Flash cable for new iISO flash shoe.

	Sony FA-CS1M
	Flash shoe for Multi Interface flash, with cable socket, pass-thru of flash contacts. Can be used on camera or on flash. Use with Minolta Cable CD/Sony FA-MC1AM.

	Flash shoe for new iISO flash, with cable socket, ISO foot (no contacts) and 1/4" threads.
	OS (a.k.a. OS-1000)
	Flash shoe for old ISO flash, with cable socket, ISO foot (no contacts) and 1/4" threads.
	Minolta Cable EX/Sony FA-EC1AM
	Extension cable. Extends OC-1000 or OC-1100/Sony FA-CC1AM or connects TC-1000/Sony FA-TC1AM with flash.
	Minolta Cable CD/Sony FA-MC1AM
	Connects two flashes.
	Minolta TC-1000/Sony FA-TC1AM
	Triple Connector. Connects up to three flashes to a camera. Note: Not to be confused with the Triple Connector (a.k.a. TC), which is designed for the PX flashes of the old Minolta MF system. The two versions are incompatible!
	Minolta PCT-100
	PC-sync connector. Allows to connect studio flashes to iISO shoe cameras without a built-in PC connector. Does not work with most film cameras!
	Sony FA-ST1AM
	PC-sync connector. Allows to connect studio flashes to iISO shoe cameras without a built-in PC connector. Does not work with most film cameras!

Off-camera stands, brackets

	Sony Miniature Stand Assy
	Folding flash foot for iISO flash, with 1/4" tripod threads. Part of HVL-F58AM and HVL-F43AM set. Sony part number X23191941.
	Minolta Mini Stand MS-2, Sony Mini Stand
	Flash foot for iISO flash with 1/4" tripod threads. Order no. 8831-400. Sony part number 269185701.
	Minolta Mini Stand MS-1
	Flash foot for iISO flash (without tripod threads). Order no. 8832-400.
	Sony VCT-55LH bracket
	Flash bracket with ISO accessory shoe (no contacts).

Controllers

	Wireless Flash Controller
	Controls wireless off-camera flashes. Required for Dynax/Maxxum 9xi. Can not be used with some bodies. Discontinued. See camera table for compatibility with individual cameras.

Reflectors and diffusors

	Bounce Reflector Set II/III/IV/V
	Clips onto the flash. The Reflector set II fits the 4000AF. The Reflector set III fits the 5400HS, 5400xi and 5200i. The Reflector set IV fits the 3500xi. The Reflector set V fits the 5600HS(D) and the 3600HS(D).
	Close-up Diffusor CD-1000
	The CD-1000 is mounted on the (iISO) flash hot shoe of the camera. The built-in flash illuminates the diffusor from behind, softening the light of the built-in flash.

Battery packs and power sources

	Minolta EP-2/Sony FA-EB1AM
	External battery pack for Sony HVL-F58AM, HVL-F56AM, Minolta 5600HS(D), 5400HS, 5400xi and 5200i. Takes six AA size batteries. Note that this battery pack and the EP-1 below are not simple battery holders. They contain a high-voltage generator, and the battery packs feed 330V to the flash unit! So you can't easily make your own battery pack out of a battery holder (besides the fact that you can't buy the required plug anywhere).
	EP-1
	External battery pack for Sony HVL-F58AM, HVL-F56AM, 5600HS(D), 5400HS, 5400xi and 5200i. Takes six C size batteries.
(no picture)	AC-1000
(no picture)	AC connector for 4000AF and Ring Flash 1200AF-N.

Others

	Minolta Control Grip CG-1000 Set
	Flash control grip, with additional power source and additional flash options (ratio flash). Only compatible with the 7000AF, 9000AF, 7000i and 8000i, and flashes 2800AF and 4000AF on the CG-1000. Set consists of CG-1000, BR-1000, AI-1000 and extension cable EC-1000. Old ISO flash shoe.
	Minolta AF Assist Light AI-1000
	Stand-alone AF assist light. Part of the CG-1000 set. Requires flash mounted on CG-1000 to work. Only compatible with the 7000AF and 9000AF. Old ISO flash shoe.
	Minolta Data Receiver DR-1000
	Data Receiver. Receives metering data (aperture and shutter speed) from Minolta Flash Meter IV. Only compatible with the 7000AF, 9000AF, 7000i and 8000i. Old ISO flash shoe.

The current Minolta AF/Sony Alpha flash system has grown quite complex, and it is not very well covered in the manuals. That's because this would involve to cover some very basic concepts, and there are many combinations of cameras and flash units with different capabilities that would have to be documented. What I try here is to explain how the Minolta flash system works in detail. This compendium assumes that you have some basic knowledge of photography, ie. you know that an aperture is and you know how a shutter works. Sony has taken over further development of the Minolta A mount (now Sony Alpha mount) and has also kept the Minolta AF flash system with their new DSLRs. When this compedium says "Minolta", the same is true for "Sony Alpha", too, except when noted otherwise.

hi, i was wondering if i can use a metz flash with an old minolta 500si adapter (aka SCA 3302), i think it's a minolta AF equivalent, to a normal iso hot shoe or a slave trigger like seagull SYK-6... an adapter i can't see there... regards

It's probably easier to just get the correct SCA adapter for the flash. The Metz web page has a function to find the correct adapter.

Whatever I select on the camera neither flash fires. As if there is no signal from the camera at all. Do I have a faulty FS-1100 or is this a known feature of its operation? (say, it will not trigger anything other than Min 2800AF/4000AF) The camera triggers 5400HS properly. Thanks for informative website.

I've changed the wording a bit. It simply means that this adapter is designed to work with older Minolta AF flashes only, and there's no guarantee that it works with other flashes that have an ISO flash shoe, as you see with your flashes.

Does it have to be a PC cable? The best solution is to use the Minolta OC-1100/Sony FA-CC1AM cable listed above.

In that case the Sony cable will not work. I don't know a ready-made adapter for PC-sync to Sony/Minolta flash adapter from the top of my head. Maybe Google can come up with something.

To my knowledge there is no voltage protection in these adapters, because the flashes they are intended to adapt do not use high voltages at the flash foot.

Soweit ich das sehe war der FS-1100 mit PC-Sync kein reguläres Produkt, sondern wurde von Minolta selbst oder vom Vorbesitzer modifiziert. Ansonsten sollten alle FS-1100 gleich sein. Was die Produkte von Drittanbietern leisten, kann ich leider nicht sagen.

I think the descriptions for the FS-1100 might be misleading, as the the flash will only work in TTL mode with Minolta film cameras, not digital imaging cameras.
