From here on out, racist comments will result in an immediate ban. No warning. No second chance. No discussion.

Racist assholes are not welcome here.

We've decided to go scorched earth with the ban hammer until we get this shit under control. We will be casting a wide net.

  • No racial slurs, regardless of context.

  • No edgy "cultural observations."

  • No Chris Rock jokes.

  • No quoting racist shit that people in the video said.

If you enjoy the discussion here, it would best to keep your comments colorblind for a while. Don't risk it.

The majority of /r/streetfights viewers have no problem keeping conversation respectful and appropriate. If you fall into that group, I want to thank you for subscribing to our growing little sub. Sorry for the drama. Please stick around. Comment. Post vids. Enjoy yourself.

This seems incredibly hamfisted and ill thought trough, this is a forum about people fighting each other in an uncontrolled environment, in the street, and yet you want to run this place as if it is the bastion of civility.

It's not our fault that 9/10 of these videos are ratchet blacks fighting for no other reason than "you step on mah shoe" or 3 blacks jumping on one white man. One thing that all these videos have shown me in my limited time on this sub is that you can never expect blacks to fight fair. If it makes it racist to simply acknowledge what's going on in the videos you might as well disable commenting altogether.

If you're curious as to why the top rated comment in the thread has been removed, it's because censorship has prevailed and people in this thread actually prefer to be told what to say and how to say it.

Well I am actually in agreement with you that the rule is harsh, but that doesn't make it any less stupid for him to drop two racial slurs in one comment after being explicitly told that it would result in a ban.

If I was the one in charge, I would ban blatant and non-joking racism while taking into account context in every individual case, but that requires great discretion. It becomes difficult to draw the line, and it sets an unclear precedent. The mods are put into power as either the being the founders of the sub or being appointed by the founders, which means they reserve the right to control the content. If they say they don't want any racial slurs, then that is the rule, whether we like it or not.

A subreddit is not a country. You were not born into it and you are under no obligation to stay if you don't like the laws. There are plenty of places on reddit where you can use racial slurs if you feel so inclined. Start your own racist fight sub if you feel so strongly about it.

      You don't know what that term actually means. "Free speech" or "Freedom of speech" means the government can't arrest you for speaking out. Outside of that, in society you are free to say what you want, and in turn you take on the consequences of what you say.
