Satoshi names his boxing lesson "For the Sake of Tomorrow #1", the same name Danpei gave the first lesson he taught Joe in Ashita no Joe.
The dub eliminates this reference.

The English dub added the Pokémon logo as part of the episode title.

In the original, one of Anoki's main character traits is his fondness of yojijukugo, compounds of four kanji. Yojijukugo are generally seen as poetic and stylish, and many of them have idiomatic meanings. Since this trait couldn't be translated into English for obvious reasons, a good part of the character's charm got lost in the process. Below is a list of his compounds.

Anoki gets his name and character design from Japanese pro wrestler Antonio Inoki.

Anoki says nothing about waiting at the gym or where its located in the Japanese original like Anthony does in the English dub.

Anthony: I'll be in the gym taking on challengers. The gym's that way. I'll be waiting for you.
Anoki: I'll accept challenges from anybody! Boys and girl, I await you in the ring!
(アノキ): 私は誰の挑戦でも受ける。少年少女の諸君、リングで待ってるぞ！

The sign on the outside of the building was changed from Tōkon Gym (闘魂ジム) and was replaced with "Fighting Spirit". Tōkon translates to "Fighting Spirit" so the English dub was accurate except for removing the 'Gym" part.

The sign on the inside of the building was changed from Tōkon (闘魂) and was replaced with "Fighting Spirit Gym". The inside and outside paint edits are opposite from the Japanese original.

Manami in the Japanese original says its just a martial arts competition which means it doesn't limit it to only Fighting type Pokémon.

Rebecca: It's a tournament for fighting Pokémon.
Manami: It's a martial arts tournament for Pokémon.
(マナミ): ポケモン達への格闘技の大会です。

Once again martial arts in the Japanese original vs fighting Pokémon in the English dub.

Brock: Ash, don't you have a fighting Pokémon we could use?
Takeshi: Satoshi, don't you have a Pokémon ideal for martial arts, too?
(タケシ): 格闘に持って来いのポケモンをサトシも持ってるだろう？

The foods that Team Rocket wants to eat are slightly different than the ones Rocket Gang want to eat.

Most of the banners of the stadium are painted out in the English dub. All of the banners say "P-1 Grand Prix" (P-1 グランプリ).

Giant is named after the late Japanese pro wrestler Shohei "Giant" Baba.

As Anoki rises from underneath and the banners in the background that say "Victory" (必勝) and Poké Pitan P (ポケピタンP) get erased in the English dub.

Just after Takeshi loses his match, the banners in the background say "Victory" (優勝) and "Do your best" (がんばれ).

Takeshi specifically tells his Ishitsubute that he'll polish its injured spots until they're sparkling.

Brock: Don't worry, you'll be as solid as a rock again soon.
Takeshi: I'll polish your injured spots until they're sparkling.
(タケシ): 痛めた所はピカピカ磨いてやるからな。

James says he's hot in the English dub while Kojiro wants to switch places with Musashi.

James: And speaking of cooking, I'm broiling in here!
Kojiro: More importantly, let's switch top and bottom.
(コジロウ): それより、上と下代わってよ。

The phrase "Do your best" (ガンバレ) is painted out in the English dub. It uses Katakana unlike the earlier instance that used Hiragana.

The banner "Hooray, Hooray" (フレーフレー) is seen in the English dub and the Japanese original.

The English dub mistranslates the line and says that Hitmonlee uses Mega Kick.

English Announcer: Hitmonlee's Mega Kick is getting the best of Hitmonchan!
Japanese Announcer: Sawamular's kicks are all fully connecting.

The pun in the Japanese original was removed from Team Rocket's dialog in the English dub.

Nyarth: When I do, a million volts of electricity will coarse through the top of the ring, then a bomb will detonate.

The English dub ignores the Hi Jump Kick attack that was referenced in the Japanese original.

English Announcer: And it's all over! Primeape defeats Hitmonlee with a Seismic Toss!
Japanese Announcer: By dodging Sawamular's troublesome Hi Jump Kick Okorizaru settled the match with Seismic Toss!

"Go fight" (ファイトでGO) is seen on a poster in the background in the Japanese original. It was removed in the English dub.

The additional "for a while" in the English dub makes it seem like Ash never came back for his Primeape like he promised.

Anthony: Why don't you let me train him for a while?
Anoki: Won't you entrust it to me?
(アノキ): こいつを私に預けてみないか。

Ash's Primeape just won the P-1 championship but the English dub adjust Anthony's line to say he'll make it the champ, which he already is!

Anthony: I promise to turn him into a real P-1 champion.
Anoki: It's a P-1 champ, I'll definitely raise it into something grand.
(アノキ): 必ずやＰ－１チャンプとして大きく育てて見せる。

The preview title for the next episode is misspelled as its missing 'wo' (を). Satoshi reads the title correctly though.
