Today I was in a drug store looking at the chips aisle. I saw a brand of sea salt popcorn called “Fit popcorn” and under the name on the bag there was a banner that said and I quote “Be the skinny-est!”
….That’s not disturbing and cult-y sounding at all. I imagine some thin person with a wide plastic smile and big glassy eyes saying that tag line as they slowly inch toward me and I slowly back away. *shudder*
If I still were in the place where I didn’t know any alternative to the constant bombardment of fat hate I’ve gotten my whole life, it would have stuck around for a long time as another shitty fat hating memory. Instead it struck me as absurd, I laughed and immediately thought of sharing it with TITP when I got home. It makes me happy that I can see this shit for the ridiculousness it really is.
