By choosing only to have a straight relationship in their game they are making a social commentary - a homophobic & transphobic one at that. What it means is they want an ‘acceptable’ way of saying that they don’t want to add queer people to their game because they’re homophobic. If the Sims could do it 14 years ago and be one of the most lucrative gaming franchises on the PC, there’s no excuse for excluding people in the LGBTQIA+ community now.
