It's ok, we have insurance! http://www.lyft.com/safety

But then again, you keep forgetting that, don't you? I remember it has been really hard for you to read the big, bold type clearly written there. But good luck with your smear campaign!

Having insurance does not mean you are a good driver.

[–]xxwishnonstarzz 1 ポイント2 ポイント

BTW, for hire drivers are not even REQUIRED by the city to have a CLEAN DRIVING background check to apply for a license:

http://kcmo.gov/neighborhoods/regulated-industries-2/business-vehicles/

How messed up is that?! At least Lyft checks these things...

[–]xxwishnonstarzz -2 ポイント-1 ポイント

Relevant, how? There are good drivers with insurance, bad drivers with insurance. Lyft does a substantial driving record check to make sure it finds the good drivers.

Do you think all commercial drivers are good drivers? Because you're living in a fantasy world.

No, but as a passenger or driver you are better protected.

From the Lyft website (which I can attest to, because I went through it:

Background & DMV Checks

Every driver is screened for criminal offenses and driving incidents. The criminal background check includes national and county-level databases, as well as national sex offender registries.

Driving Record Check

  • Aged 23 or older, with an active U.S. driver’s license for 1+ years
  • Valid personal auto insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements
  • No more than two moving violations in the past three years (e.g. accidents, traffic light violations)
  • No major violations in the past three years (e.g. driving on a suspended license, speeding 21+ mph over the limit)
  • No DUIs or other drug-related driving violations
  • No more than one severe infraction on your lifetime driving history
  • No extreme infractions on your lifetime driving history (e.g. hit-and-run, felonies involving a vehicle)

Background Check

  • No violent crimes
  • No sexual offenses
  • No theft
  • No property damage
  • No felonies

EDIT: Yep, downvote information! How reddit of you

You do not have commercial livery insurance on your lyft so when your hip car gets in a fashionable crash you will be cancelled and the insurance company will disclaim any responsibilities to pay for passenger injury.

Feel free to post your commercial livery insurance if you want to prove to the sub that you are not a dangerous gypsy cab that should be ticketed.

Why do you need special rules?

[–]xxwishnonstarzz -1 ポイント0 ポイント

Still can't read, I guess? Lyft has contingency insurance in case our insurance denies our claim. I've posted it all for you before.

[–]xxwishnonstarzz -1 ポイント0 ポイント

Excess Liability: $1,000,000 limit covering driver liability for bodily injury and/or property damage of passengers and/or third parties (applies from the time a driver accepts a ride request until the time the ride is ended in the app)

Contingent Comprehensive & Collision: $2,500 deductible and $50,000 maximum applicable to drivers who purchase collision & comprehensive coverage on their personal policy (applies from the time a driver accepts a ride request until the time the ride is ended in the app)

Excess Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist: $1,000,000 limit covering bodily injury of drivers and/or passengers and/or third parties for damages caused by an uninsured or underinsured motorist who is at fault (applies from the time a driver accepts a ride request until the time the ride is ended in the app)

Contingent Liability: up to $50,000 per person /$100,000 per accident /$25,000 physical damage, covering driver liability for bodily injury and/or property damage of passengers and/or third parties (applies from the time when a driver flips into driver mode until the driver accepts a ride request)

We created our $1M liability and uninsured/underinsured policies as excess over a driver’s personal insurance. The excess coverages will also drop down and act as primary insurance when the driver’s personal policy doesn’t respond. Our contingent coverages step in if a driver's personal policy doesn't respond and do not act as excess or in addition to the driver’s own personal policy.

I dont really think you understand how auto accident tort cases work. Good luck beating the lyft drum though.

[–]xxwishnonstarzz 0 ポイント1 ポイント

I really think you don't understand how insurance works, apparently. By your logic, any accident can be brought to court and lost. How can I make this any clearer? Maybe shouting...LYFT HAS INSURANCE! INSURANCE WHICH COVERS THEIR DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS! Just like you have insurance to cover yourself when you are driving your smelly cab!
