I don't want to offend you... but it took 5 years to do nothing?

I dont want to offend you....but you are a mother fucking prick.

Ok i'll be that guy. Even tho szczupak01 wasn't trying to be mean, he wasn't wrong either. This subreddit is called GetMotivated, this picture does the complete opposite. Are we just going to pretend that lack of results over 6 years is a tool used to get people motivated. I didnt realize we had to lie to people coming to this sub. This girl needs some physical assistance to reach her goals. There is no reason she shouldn't have seen more results after this period of time without a medical condition. She also said that she is slowly learning about nutrition and uses her past as an excuse of why its taking so long. Exercise, Eatting less, and drinking lots of water isn't that hard to master.

With that all being said, this picture is absolutely the worst thing someone could post to this sub. It is clear that she is not focused on her goal to lose weight. She also gives a haunting reality to others that you could work at this for 6 years and get almost no where. That is not the case, she has not put in the work at all.

couldn't agree more

I don't know if we're looking at the same progress pics, but it looks like she's lost a substantial amount of weight. Granted she's wearing clothes in the first two pics, but it still seems pretty obvious. Maybe she's not losing weight fast enough for you? Either way, it's probably out of line to say she hasn't done anything. It can be really hard to get started for people who are so large, and there's likely to be some inefficiency as you struggle to integrate a fitness program that works for you into your life. The progress is still real and should be encouraged.

Those baggy clothes make it hard to tell. Anyways if we truly wanted to help her shouldn't we be encouraging her to seek assistance? I absolutely think the last thing we need to do is be a echo chamber of bullshit for people fishing for compliments. I don't know if that is the case with OP but 6 years is beyond enough time to change your appearance dramatically. At what point does someone step in and say "hey you doing something wrong" or let's just give it another 6 years. This isn't rocket science it's simple nutrition.

When you talk about "doing something wrong" that's where I feel you're really missing the boat. We don't know OP, we don't know what her lifestyle/struggles are and we don't know if she's happy or not with her rate of progress. Maybe she's not, in which case she should be asking for assistance instead of making posts like this. I'm going to go out on a limb though and guess that over six years of consistent weight loss she's learned a thing or two at least. Maybe she's perfectly happy with the way things are going for her. It's not a race, and it doesn't have to be "wrong." Being critical here accomplishes nothing.

I do agree largely with that bit about being an echo chamber of bullshit, but I guess we don't agree with what that means.

None of this should matter. I don't know any background to any of the people that motivate me on this sub. This picture doesn't not do it. One of the biggest problems that face people trying to lose weight is that it is going to take a long time, but 6 years is way beyond that. If I was her size and saw this I would think "wow, im not gonna work at something that long to look like that". Thats the issue that is very clear, she hasn't put in hard work at all.

Maybe she's perfectly happy with the way things are going for her. It's not a race, and it doesn't have to be "wrong." Being critical here accomplishes nothing.

Once again this isn't /r/loseit it's /r/GetMotivated none of this should matter and your losing site of the intent of this sub.

I disagree with you.

I'll revoke the "mother fucking" from my previous comment, but he's still a prick. And really, comments like THIS are absolutely the worst thing you can post on here.

Progress is progress. And I see no point in putting anyone down in anyway because they are taking longer than you think they should to reach their goal.

[–]mulholl1 4 ポイント5 ポイント

Exactly. And why are you only measuring progress by her appearance? OP says she's made drastic eating changes, is exercising more, and just has a better outlook on life in general.

[–]Teddyknockout 0 ポイント1 ポイント

This is all true, but its not motivating. That is why I am here.

[–]Shitty_Bollocks -1 ポイント0 ポイント

hadn't you ought to be exercising rather than sitting on the internet trying to find motivation you lazy fuck, or has this image de-motivated you into some sort of crippling self loathing depressive episode?

[–]Teddyknockout 0 ポイント1 ポイント

lmfao, I swear i typed my last reply up at the gym between sets. I know there is no way to prove it but its amazing you said that. Also why are you angry at me? I wasn't being rude or lying?

[–]MemeTLDR 0 ポイント1 ポイント

I agree with you 100%
