One of New Zealand's largest New Year's festival has removed a "racist" poster depicting two women dressed as Native Americans, following a number of complaints on Twitter.
Rhythm and Vines organisers have apologised for the poster, which sparked outrage from angry Twitter users.
"We sincerely apologise for the image used and any offence this may have caused. The use of this image was inappropriate and has been removed," Rhythm and Vines wrote in a tweet.
One Twitter user branded the poster "offensive", and said it "reduced me to tears".
But others social media users are calling the reaction too PC, questioning why it is offensive.
Rhythm and Vines has been running in Gisborne every summer since 2003 and attracts up to 30,000 party-revellers each year.
