Stormtrooper isn't an official title anyway. And clone troopers do every bit as much storming as stormtroopers do.

Okay? That only supports what I said. Or it does nothing at all. I mean Anakin calls Qui-Gon's lightsaber a "laser sword" in TPM, but just because it's a quote from the movie doesn't mean they're actually called laser swords.

You've already gotten links proving that they're named "Imperial Stormtroopers", why are you still arguing? And infantry is a type of military unit, like cavalry, and units are just that: groups of military troops.

Imperial Stormtroopers is not the same title as Stormtroopers. Stormtroopers still sounds like a generic term. If every combatant is a stormtrooper, then that's not really a title. It is just a generic term, like soldier.

Calling Imperial Stormtroopers just Stormtroopers is the same as calling the US Army Rangers just Rangers, just a simplification of the name. And not every combatant in Star Wars is a Stormtrooper, not even on the Imperial side. There are Snowtroopers and Scouttroopers as well.

Snow and scout are descriptors. But what the hell is storm? It's not like they cause storms, or fight only in storms. The word stormtrooper isn't an official title. It's a term meant purely to sound dramatic and threatening.

In the Star Wars Universe there is literally no other usage of the word Stormtrooper other than to describe Imperial Stormtroopers.

Says it on their action figure packaging too. Which I guess is unreliable too, what with the Zuckuss/4-LOM debacle. I dunno, all I know is that the triangle eyes are clones and individual eyes are stormtroopers.
