If people are already being banned from /r/technology for speaking ill of mods, and OP here is suggesting we should pack our bags and move somewhere else, why not just destroy our ships so that the enemies cannot seize them, so to speak.

That is, stop submitting any technology things, stop submitting Tech Politics, stop submitting Pure Tech, stop submitting anything. If people really want to see change, I really think they need to be willing to burn their ships; only submit text posts demanding the resignation of the mods that nobody wants in their community anymore. Flood /r/technology with only demands for resignation, no tech.

If the mods are banning people for speaking ill of the mods, let them; let them ban you, let them ban us, for only submitting text posts. We should not care about being banned from /r/technology because we have already collectively agreed to burn our ships, pack our bags, cut our losses, and move on.

I might be banned for inciting something like this, but if so then that is really unfortunate. Censorship is alive and well here in /r/technology, where things that the moderators do not like, but are not against the rules (http://www.reddit.com/rules) are banned just for not being liked.

I agree with OP, hopefully we do not forget this, and the only way to note forget is to keep reminding.

EDIT: I have been banned from submitting text posts. Censorship did not end with the mods that were removed last week as current mods are saying.

EDIT: Since mods are censoring and banning those who want to take back their community and subreddit:

/u/cwm44: If you wanted to turn this place into a ghost town you could downvote everything. People would stop submitting stuff if enough people did it. 1

/u/DoesntShave4Sherlock: That's actually a really good idea. Very effective, very quickly effective (wouldn't take more than a few days if a lot of people did it, and did it consistently), and it can't be stopped by banning anyone since the mods can't tell who votes how on what and votes from users banned in a sub still count. 2

EDIT: While it is easy to say, just move to /r/tech we need to consider:

/u/blastcat4: The mods in question would be delighted if the complainers simply moved on to another sub. It's just another way of dodging the heat. It doesn't solve the root problem that these people are abusing the system and exploiting the reddit community. The only real solution is for Reddit to take action and remove these people from the site. 3

EDIT: Excellent Idea by /u/cardevitoraphicticia

Give active sub users the ability to vote in/out mods - http://www.reddit.com/r/ideasfortheadmins/comments/24menb/give_active_sub_users_the_ability_to_vote_inout/

EDIT: Have the /r/technology mods removed the ability to submit text posts entirely?

EDIT: They have been:

/u/Calimhero: Self posts are suspended pending moderator vote. 4

I wish that moderators could be suspended pending a user vote...
