It's partially sarcasm. He's not necessarily legally wrong for taking the money (it is LEGALLY his money anyway) but it's still basically stealing. He just can't get in trouble for it.

The account is in his name with his birth date and his SSN. The account and by definition the money in the account is his. His dad doesn't really have a case. His dad might beat him up though.

I think that it is morally wrong. Although they were both wrong, father for ruining his son's credit and the son to take pity revenge by stealing money. He could just stop talking to his father and move on. You can even request a new SSN.

First of all, that may be true, but I'd be careful legal certainty because some dude on reddit said it.

Second of all, legal innocence and innocence are two different things. And remember, there's also civil court.

If they guy had directly stolen OJ's stuff,i would've been with him on that one. Either way I honestly don't think he deserved that sentence, although of course he should have been in jail anyway.

To be fair, advice animals doesn't really stand of lots of redditors. I was quite curious to learn to the reasons why this was not stealing, but then I realized I was in this juvenile fucking sub.
