This is Thin Privilege

Thin Privilege is not being artistically stereotyped.

So my career is acting. I’ve been a bigger girl for quite some time, and while I have lost some weight, I’m still not deemed ”acceptable” by society’s fucked up standards. I got an email for a great audition in my area, so I decided to go for it. I was perfect for the role, and they didn’t have any guidelines when it came down to looks. It had a personality portion where they asked you questions to see how you answered them. Again, I did very well. - I find out a few weeks later that they chose another girl from my acting class. Surprise, surprise.. she’s a leggy, very thin, absolutely gorgeous girl.. with a CRAP personality. She isn’t even that talented (not a personal opinion). - But, this is how it always goes. It’s all a stupid stereotypical thing based more so on looks than talent and personality. - However, I’m not going to let that stop me.
