Dustforce

VVVVVV

VVVVVV is a retro styled 2D platformer by Terry Cavanagh, creator of dozens of free games. You play as the fearless leader of a team of dimension exploring scientists who inadvertently crash, and are separated. The game involves exploring the strange world you've found yourself in, and reuniting your friends.

VVVVVV explores one simple game mechanic: you cannot jump - instead, you reverse your own gravity at the press of a button. The game focuses on playing with this mechanic in a variety of interesting ways.

The game is designed not to artificially gate your progress. In VVVVVV there are no locks, no power-ups, no switches, nothing to stop you progressing except the challenges themselves.

Cave Story+

Cave Story+ is a 2-D platformer in the Metroidvania tradition, with a classic, world-saving hero and an emphasis on exploration and discovery. The indie studio Nicalis worked with Studio Pixel to update graphics and add new game modes, reflected in this edition of Cave Story.

Reus

Reus gives you the ability to shape the planet and then lets your creations unfold organically. Once the earth is rendered into a habitable region, mankind will flock to it, but as they grow in size so will their greed. LIMBO

The captivating puzzle-platformer LIMBO is a modern classic, putting players in control of a boy's journey through a tense and hostile world. Our hero, Max, may be just a 2-D sprite, but he can leap into the third dimension by jetting between the background and the foreground playfields with his trusty jetpack in this unique dimensionally-woven experience.

Armed with a heavy-duty water cannon, Max has what he needs to vanquish his long-term nemesis: the Mutant Mudds. Max must blast and hover his way across the soiled landscape to seek out mysterious Water Sprites. Legend says collecting all of the mysterious Water Sprites will wash the filthy Mutant Mudds away for good!

Lone Survivor

Lone Survivor is an unusual mix of survival horror, stealth mechanics, adventure games, a virtual pet, a physical and psychological survival simulation and a truly interactive story with art, design and music by the one-man studio, Superflat Games.

The surgical mask-wearing protagonist has survived a disaster and must now face the world's twisted creatures, as well as the potential unraveling of his own mind. The player is encouraged to role-play and forget about the game's workings, while the story molds to match the player's actions. This is a game where your choices genuinely matter.

Thomas Was Alone

It's hip to be a square (or any other kind of parallelogram) in Thomas Was Alone, a minimalistic puzzle-platformer. Start out as Thomas, a red rectangle, then fall and jump through 100 levels as you discover new friends along the way. You'll run into John, a tall, lanky and helpful yellow rectangle, Sarah, a pint-sized curious purple rectangle with a powerful double jump, and more, as you fall in love with the characters in this simple but endearing game of quadrilaterals.

Thomas Was Alone won the Best Performer award at the 2013 BAFTA Video Games Awards for Danny Wallace’s in-game narration.

Element4l

Element4l is a immersive and experimental platform game, with a strong focus on flow and smooth gameplay, wrapped in an exceptional soundtrack by MindTree.

In Element4l, you control four elements that are bound together on a journey to shape life. Your only hindrances are nature and the sun. It takes a different, experimental approach to classic platform games and challenges you to rearrange your reflexes.

The state-­changing, physics­-based gameplay invites all ages to think logically and reveals that pressing the right button at the right time is often more rewarding than mashing buttons.
