Hmm that's globally offensive.

[–]SupImHereForKarmaLegendary Eagle Master [score hidden]

What's worse is this thread defending him. People who have had ZERO experience with any sort of racism telling everyone else that they "have their panties in a bunch." It's not about whether YOU have a problem with it, or whether whatever country you're from has a problem with it... it's about being aware that SOMEWHERE else in the world, that word offends the fuck out of a LOT of people. It's that simple.

In other words, this is disgusting and that team should face serious repercussions. People who feel otherwise need to grow up and face a reality check. There's no reasonable way to justify this as "okay."

lots of people have never encountered rascism firsthand, to them its a non issue. The thing is you wont convince them by getting frustrated yourself, you have to convince people calmly instead of making it an issue where everyone is polarized.

[–]SupImHereForKarmaLegendary Eagle Master [score hidden]

Excellent point, seriously!

[–]tonster181 [score hidden]

I disagree with your statement. These are supposed to be professionals. He should be kicked off the team immediately. There is no need for racial discrimination whether he has experienced it or not.

Your thought process extrapolated is ridiculous. You are basically saying that anyone can be extremely offensive in their workplace, simply because they haven't experienced a bias.

[–]spacemanoncrackDistinguished Master Guardian [score hidden]

not what im saying at all, its not acceptable on any level. Im talking about the people excusing his behaviour and how you should approach them about how wrong they are.

If you tell them they are idiots for thinking that way, they get defensive and its hard to change their opinion.

[–]tonster181 [score hidden]

Someone that is an idiot is unlikely to change anyway. As I said below, if I personally know someone I will still call them an idiot and tell them to change their name. Calling them an idiot or not will not make the difference. Seriously, if they are willing to do something so stupid, do you think reasoning with them will help?

[–]kernevez [score hidden]

People having different opinion aren't necessarily idiots.

You think your Pov is the right one, heh, who the hell think his own pov is wrong ?

[–]StreltsyMaster Guardian Elite [score hidden]

The only idiot here is you because of your lack of reading comprehension.

Let's see if I can explain this in simple terms:

spacemanoncrack not defend stupid action. spacemanoncrack say is best convince fans of stupid action man with calm words. Many fan of stupid action man live in place where stupid action would not anger anyone, they no understand why is stupid.

I bet you're feeling mighty amicable and totally willing to change your position right now even though I've shown you to be a fool. Get rekt son.

Yeah, in no way is it acceptable to use that in that context. When I was in high school I had a very racially diverse group of friends, and we all made the occasional joke about stereotypes in a nonpublic setting (none of us took offence to that sort of thing and we were a little immature) but none of us would ever drop the N-bomb, and naming a weapon that way in game, especially as somebody that has a higher profile, is in no way acceptable. If I was a sponsor I would drop that team instantly.

[–]kernevez [score hidden]

but none of us would ever drop the N-bomb

from the USA i guess ? You guys have a huge fear about the word NIGGER.

It's just a word, it doesn't mean anything or doesn't indicate one's opinion about anything.

It's your history of slavery that made you scared of saying anything about black people.

[–]TheyPayWithMaize [score hidden]

No I'm Canadian.

It's just a word, it doesn't mean anything or doesn't indicate one's opinion about anything.

It's a very derogatory word, with a racist meaning, and is often a strong indicator about a person's opinion.

It is not that simple. Earth is a pretty damn big place and it has a pretty damn huge amount of different people on it. There are tons of stuff that you would never consider offensive that are a big no-no in other places around the world. The "OK" sign (circle with thumb and fore finger) for example is considered really offensive in many places around the world as is the "thumbs up" sign.

I'm not saying that "nigger juicer" is an appropriate name for a gun, but it definitely is not as big of a deal as you make it out to be. You can never please everybody.

For the most part prejudice remarks rely on throwing a race/class/group of people under the bus in order to insult your target. This type of drama crawls up on reddit daily but its a sign of immaturity to understand why terms like this offend.

Lots of people in this comment section are simply displaying their immaturity to the world. Being edgy or whatever is something they'll likely grow out of, something to look back on in a few years and laugh at. I did stupid shit like this when I was a teen but you learn to grow up... hopefully. Its easy to say you're not offended by this, it doesn't offend me personally in the slightest, but you've got to be dull or lacking intelligence to not be able to see why it is offensive to many.

There's lots of ways to trash talk your opponent, or bolster your ego without needlessly kicking a group between the legs who's not part of the situation, that's what we're seeing here. There's lots of ways to name your gun without overtly offending an entire race of people uninvolved in any way.

[–]GenTronSeven [score hidden]

Yeah, if we didn't do anything that offended other people, we just wouldn't be able to do anything.

Someone, somewhere, is offended by literally anything.

[–]True_to_youMaster Guardian Elite [score hidden]

Well the word nigger is a pretty universally recognized symbol of bigotry and is nearly universally offensive.
