  • what is "Template Error: The template file must be given (or the template could not be opened)"? Does this mean the website is defunct?
    Anonymous

It means there is a problem with configuration: http://www.linuxspy.info/tag/template-error-the-template-file-must-be-given/ You should write to the webmaster of that site.

  • Hey, is there any way you can make it so that entire Twitter threads can be saved? I've noticed that you can save user pages for up to "3 scrolls", but only the first "page" of content is saved for a Twitter thread. The archiver doesn't bother to scroll past it. (sorry for clunky wording, unsure what proper terminology to use)

It should scroll the page until twitter website stops responding.
    Sometimes it happens too early.
    I will investigate this issue.

  • were do the links in "linked from" come from?
    Anonymous

They are links to the pages on the community sites where the original (or archived) page was cited.
I found them useful to understand the context of each of the archived pages.

  • Why don't you allow webmasters to remove their sites? The duplicate content can harm the original sites.
    Anonymous

It is not the reason to delete page from the archive. Reports about SEO collisions are forwarded to Google and Bing and the reported pages should disappear only from their search index. It takes few days. Sometimes it does not work well. Please try to report again or write to webmaster@archive.is

  • Your archive doesn't seem to work with Instagram posts for some reason, is there a reason for this?
    Anonymous

It is a bug, it will be fixed soon.

  • Does archive-is has IP segments for stationary use? Why not add a characteristic likes "ArchiveIs Bot" into user-agent info?
    kopisee

Most of the requests are performed from the segment 144.x.x.x.

Some modern websites would answer with the bot-optimized web pages, assuming a bot is unable to process a modern page. That pages may look far from user expectations.

  • Regarding bulk archiving... Is the "url" field the only parameter that one has to POST to the "archive,is/submit/" location, or is their any other field data that needs to be submitted also?

    Only one

  • I see that you implemented expanding of livejournal comments. That's great! But for some styles it's working incorrectly, for example for [kungurov livejournal 76137 html] archived page is one of the subthreads with one comment (redirected to). Could you please fix it?
