saying something like “I hate cis people” on tumblr isn’t fighting fire with fire, it’s more like saying “I hate fire”  after having burned yourself on the stove once. So now you spend every winter freezing, and eating all your food raw because you refuse to acknowledge the benefits of fire.

so first off, it’s totally reasonable to hate/be scared of something even if it’s only hurt you once, like I know a lot of people are scared of dogs because one attacked them once, and that’s fine… and trans people have been hurt a FUCKLOAD more than once by cis people. I’m hurt at least four or five times a day at very least, and I experience relatively little violence because of my privilege - there are a lot of trans people who experience a fuckload more violence than I do.

second off, bahahahahahaha oh my fucking god. cis people are not everything in the world. benefits of cis people are few and far between, and the benefits often come at the cost of violence. And example from my life: a cis person wants to give me a job: benefit. Cost: constant use of wrong pronouns every single day, use of wrong name, constant erasure, being told it’s ‘difficult’ to explain my gender or use my proper pronouns, etc. And like I said… I have a lot of other privilege, so I don’t face violence that many other do constantly.

So it’s more like having the choice between freezing to death outside, or hopping in an oven that is not hot enough to kill you, but very much hot enough to burn you constantly and cause you various health problems from the heat.
