Yeah like all those countries with better wealth inequality, actual* universal healthcare and free education. The horror.

(Point being, a lot of the heavily socialist countries top the US in lots of ways. Happiness, job satisfaction, equality, income equality, life expectancy, education, free press....on and on.)

So you can dislike socialism all you want - but "destroyed" and "failed ideas". Let's keep to the facts.

Ooh, I won spot the Liberal. Perhaps the reason that wealth inequality is lesser in those countries is because they don't have extremely rich power-houses living there? Oh right, in America not only do we have people with upwards of $75 billion , but also many people (19 so far) above $20 billion, and even more above $10 billion (40 so far) and even a family that holds $150 billion. Just look at the top 10 here http://www.forbes.com/billionaires/ and count how many are in the US. You might think these rich people are evil, HOW DARE THEY HAVE MONEY! But many of them made their money by creating a business or a product used by an extremely large amount of people, that's not a bad thing!

As for the Universal Health care, we are moving towards it, but, let me note, that as far as specialists are concerned, the US has many of the top specialists. the issue is, these specialists are majorilly out of reach for your average joe.

"Free Education" I wonder why so many people at my university are from other countries, especially when they have decent universities there. Oh right, it's because the USA's universities overwhelmingly take the majority of the best universities in the world. http://www.shanghairanking.com/ARWU2013.html

These are all still capitalist nations. They may have a few slightly more socialist program but comparing them to actual socialism is a joke.

As far as I am to understand real socialism has never been tried and has therefore never failed.

Socialism is when the workers own the means of production but communism is when the state owns it.

Socialism is a pipe dream and communism is a nightmare.
