Well, your fellow /r/conspiracy user seems to be suggesting that the 'balance something on your head' thing is so that a sniper can take you out. Which is utterly ridiculous.

No it wasn't extremely ambiguous. Extremely ambiguous would be if they said, "sit perfectly still so they can get a perfect one". A perfect what?

When discussing webcams it'd be logical to assume a "shot" is about a photograph and not so that a sniper can take you out. That thought never even crossed my mind until you.

Side note: Interesting how the snapshot has been removed. I don't know enough about snapshot to know why this was.

I looked at some paranoid people saying stupid things. I guessed that they were talking about one stupid thing when they were talking about another. It's fruitless to be "logical" with you people when everything you do or say is completely illogical.

I've ready stated that I was probably wrong about them meaning a sniper, as I noted in my ninja edit. Not sure what more you want. I'm not saying it's more logical to assume they meant a sniper than to assume they meant a photo.

I don't understand why any of it is hilarious. Your misconception is not that funny. Who are you to declare the people of a subreddit you don't seem to have fervent for, as not skeptics?

The subscribers of /r/conspiracy are in fact inclined to question or doubt all accepted opinions. That's a pretty damn good definition. We question everything, no?

I've already made the point here (you may have missed it) that the NSA/FBI can already access your webcam if they want. Therefore the intent isn't to get a picture of everybody per se but to link an account that a redditor assumes to be anonymous with their personal identity.

What's sadly "hillarious" is that you went full conspiratard and assumed something more ridiculous that anybody on /r/conspiracy even hypothesised: that it was for snipers.

Your personal bias is showing without any objectivity. I understand why you can't critique something based on the substance alone but instead must use exaggerations of "99%" and such to make points.

Actually, it's not stupid. What's a good way to get a good photograph? Get somebody to sit still for a period of time. YES, 60 seconds is long, but it works, no? I used to take passport photos for my job and they're pretty strict. To get the best database possible it'd be a smart idea to get a collection of photos that are similar.

No. That's what you see it as. It's already been explained what the prank could be used from this and it isn't your conspiratard narrative of "OMG the NSA must be spying on us with this April fools prank because our edgy reddit posts!!!" The only person saying that is you, a conspiratard.
