    My little girl is in love with her new LeapPad2.She was able to quickly understand and how to use the Leap Pad 2.

    Leap Pad 2 new features are: a higher resolution front and back camera, more memory space, faster processor, improved battery life, two new in-built in games, and rechargeable battery pack option.

    Those upgrades make a difference. I wasn't sure what the old Leap Pad so I checked out the first Leap Pad at the store. To give me the feel of how the old Leap Pad functioned. The new The LeapPad2 feels much better, faster response, when turning it on or changing between pages to browse through the apps.

    The two new apps: Cartoon Director and Art Studio are an awesome addition to the other regular apps from the first Leap Pad. Cartoon Director allows you to snap photo of a friend or family member and then put their head directly into a story before recording their own voice.

    What I Love about LeapPad2: It's durability. The quality of the leaPad2 is strong and has passes the clumsiness of my little one. She has dropped the LeapPad twice now and seem it will last a long time. Another feature would be the rechargeable battery option.

    Overall, the quality & price is reasonable. The Leap Pad 2 is perfect for the little ones to learn and entertainment.

    This is our third Leap Pad (first Leap Pad2). If we hadn't put so much money into games, adaptor, ear phones, I never would have replaced the first one. My daughter dropped the first in our kitchen and the screen shattered. I couldn't believe it was not more durable. We only had it two weeks but Toys R Us made us use our warranty. We purchased a 2nd and had to purchase the warranty again. The battery compartment stopped working on the 2nd one after a few months. I tried several different brands of new batteries and it would not work. It worked fine with the AC adaptor but our daughter didn't want to be stuck to the wall. So we used our warranty again and purchased the new Leap Pad 2. We have spent so much money on warranties but this is the last one I will purchase. I really wish we had spent extra money up front and purchased an iPad. We've already spent that much money on this toy. Games are too expensive whereas apps are free. My daughter loves the Leap Pad and that's why we have repurchased but she also loves mine and my husbands iPads. This toy just isn't worth the money.

    The company needs to work out the kinks with its online system. I was told that my account information has not been updated since 1997 (I would have been in HIGH SCHOOL)--and I did not sign up for an account until 2013! Makes me wonder what is happening with my information!

        I have purchased 2 leap pad 2. I have followed the instructions of the product to be able to register the product and download additional apps. I have contacted Leap pad on Christmas eve after trying 6 times to download a driver to computer to work with the leap pad. This was unsuccessful, they gave me additional directions, i have spent at least 5 hours working to try to get the product to work with my computer and download apps, and spent an additional hour on the phone with leapfrog. We can only purchase the games/learning at the story. Leapfrog customer support is terrible. I was very surprised they were not able to resolve this issue. I have a mac and feel this should not be difficult. I am disappointed will be my children when I tell them this item must be returned.

          We got our son this game system for Christmas. A month later he cracked the screen with the pin it comes with. We bought the warrenty got a gift card and bought a new one in Feb 2013. By May there was a glich in the system and it would shut off for no reason and the middle of the touch screen stopped working. We bought the AC adaptor for the system and it didn't work good it didn't fit right in wall socket and Toys'r'us wouldn't take it back. We've spent so much money on warrenties, games, and apps that we bought our son an itouch and he's had that for about 6 months now and no issues. We returned the second leapfrog and we're waiting for the gift card. Not sure if I'm going to try the explorer or give up on leap pads and leap frogs products all together.

            Happy for those who have had success with Leapfrog, but I must complain. 6 year old received Leappad 2 for Christmas from Leapfrog.com, screen cracked just 2 months later with the stylus. Yes, they sent me the one time replacement with just a photo of the broken product and a notice that this was my "one time replacement". It is now June and the replacement Leappad2 (in a gelskin and it's hard purple case) dropped on the floor and the screen BROKE AGAIN. I have not even called them. We bought a 3rd unit because she broke it 3 days before her birthday party and several people had bought her games and accessories, but she will not get another one if this breaks. Shouldn't a computer designed for ages 3 to 9 be tougher than that? I wish I had tried the Innotab and will share my story with others looking at the Leappad products.

            The battery life is so not good. I put bran new batteries in at 10 am by 4pm the batteries where dead. I can't possible change the batteries everyday. Very disappointed.

            We purchased one of these as a Christmas present. Within a month, the screen had cracked. We didn't see it happen. I e-mailed Leap Frog and they wouldn't consider replacement of the product because they stated it was due to misuse. Our daughter kept asking for another so as a birthday present (Born May 4th) we purchased another and gave it to her Sunday (May 5th). This morning her dad was sitting beside her watching her play one of the apps adn the screen cracked again. This time we purchased the insurance on the product; however, we are seriously considering whether or not we should get a replacement.
