The former chief editor of the Ming Pao newspaper, Kevin Lau, has undergone surgery on a lung and a leg after being chopped in Sai Wan Ho. He remains in critical condition. Police say they're hunting for two suspects following the attack. They have released a photo of the alleged attackers and have now found a motorcycle they think was used as a get-away vehicle. It was reported missing by its owner and found in Sai Wan Ho Street. Mr Lau told police the attacker, who was wearing a helmet, fled on a motorcycle driven by a second person. Acting detective superintendent Simon Kwan said the attack took place as Mr Lau stepped out of his car. Mr Lau was recently replaced as chief editor of Ming Pao, sparking concerns over press freedom. The newspaper has offered a $1-million reward for information leading to the attackers. The Chief Executive, C Y Leung, has strongly condemned the attack, saying the police will carry out a thorough investigation. Mr Leung issued a statement saying the government was very concerned about the incident. He said Hong Kong was a law-abiding territory and wouldn't tolerate such violence. Mr Leung appealed to witnesses to come forward to assist police in their investigations. The vice-chairwoman of the Hong Kong Journalists Association Shirley Yam also condemned the attack
