The 35-year-old rocker from Team Shakira was eliminated on Wednesday night despite leaving, according to her coach, “everything on stage” during her take on Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” earlier in the week. Karina was not one of the Top 2 vote-getters on her team this week, and when it came down to her and returning hopeful Garrett Gardner, Shakira ultimately chose to keep the latter.

Also eliminated this week was country singer Justin Rivers from Team Blake, Bronx-native Cáthia from Team Usher, and 18-year-old Caroline Glaser from Team Adam.

This week’s results show also included performances from Rod Stewart, former coach Cee Lo Green featuring Season 2 Runner-Up Juliet Simms, and this season’s Top 16.

The Top 12 will perform next Monday at 8pm/7 central.

***Sidebar: At the beginning of Wednesday night’s results show, host Carson Daly and the CEO of Telescope, Inc., the company responsible for collecting the total number of votes cast by the public for THE VOICE, announced that some “inconsistencies” were discovered in this week’s voting polls. As a result, votes that were cast this week via text messaging and online were not counted in this week’s results. They stated that those votes would not have made a difference in the overall results had they counted, and that the conflict has been resolved as to assure that this will not happen again in the future.***
