Windsurfers like a storm - level 3

Stomach-churning stunts off the coast of Cornwall, as the severe weather which is keeping most people indoors saw some of the world’s best windsurfers take to the waves.

Competing in the final round of the Red Bull Storm Chase, which can only take place in storm force conditions, the ten daredevils battled winds of up to 80 miles an hour.

The final round saw Thomas Traversa of France take the win.

“This is the best windsurfing, like really going crazy in crazy conditions, and I am so happy that I could show what I can do. Winning it. The first one, the second one and then the third one, it’s like. I don’t know. It’s like something happens there for me. And I’m so happy.”

With Brazil’s Marcillio Browne in second place and Dany Bruch from Germany coming third.

Difficult words: stomach-churning (making you feel very frightened), stunt (dangerous action), severe (very bad and extreme), storm force ( daredevil (somebody who likes doing dangerous things).
