ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9) - The Capital Gazette reports that the midshipman found dead after car accident in a creek on Sunday has been identified. According to the Gazette, the U.S. Naval Academy identified the midshipman as 1st Class Max Allen.
The report says that Allen was 25 years old and from Chesterfield, Va.
According to the Capital Gazette, Allen was an oceanography major and a member of the brigade's 1st Company. He was also a member of the Club Soccer Team, the Italian American Midshipmen Club, the Japanese American Club, the Oceanography Club, and played intramural sports.
At this time, the crash in College Creek, near the Nimitz library on academy grounds in Annapolis, seems to be an accident.
An Anne Arundel County Fire Department dive team discovered Allen's body underwater near the seawall.
