ANIME COMBAT EXHIBITION

WHAT IS A.C.E.

ACE is a GOS/DFC style popularity contest, only focusing on fighting styles rather than girls. The format will be extremely similar to the latest incarnation of GOS/DFC; 256 characters (optimally), two double-elimination four-way match rounds, followed by a 64-person one-on-one match tournament, bonus points, votebombs, a draft, the works. There is no set goal here, we're just looking to have a little fun with violence part of sex and violence.

WHO IS RUNNING A.C.E.

AK and I. I pitched the idea to AK a couple of months ago, and he graciously agreed to be my co-conspirator and handle the mechanical side of things, while I serve as public relations. The rules layed out here apply to everyone, so there isn't much actual gamemastering to do, we are by and large just administrators who keep the scores up to date, fill out the brackets, and do the various other legwork necessary for the game to run.

MATCH MECHANICS

Matches will be run almost exactly like modern GOS/DFC; matches last three days terminating at a pre-set time on third day (10:00PM PST / Board Time). All votes will be posted. All votes are final when either their edit time or the match time expires. Sudden Death will be the tie-breaker mechanism. The only alteration is that if one has not voted at least once in each previous round they lose their bonus scoring (and hence cannot cast vote for more than three points). If they haven't voted prior to the Sweet 16 they will not be allowed to vote from that point on. The first two rounds are double elimination, the top two scorers will advance, with the bottom two being eliminated. Rounds 3 onward will be standard one on one single elimination. For the last ninety minutes of a match, edits will not be allowed. Editing one's vote renders it invalid. Doing it more than once results in forfeiting your vote (EG no constantly editing to render a past vote invalid and then posting a revised vote). As a note that's cumulative, try to exploit the system once by editing a post to render a vote invalid and then post a new vote later, and from that point on you will forfeit your vote if you edit it in the last ninety minutes. If you need something cleaned up, get a mod. If votes are dropping as a clump near the tail end of a match, the match will automatically be extended by an unspecified amount of time. At that point you will no longer know precisely when the deadline is, thus sniping is impossible.

BONUS SCORING

We're only slightly altering the voting format from GOS/DFC. Standard votes net three points. Each player will get three claimed characters. The claims can be assigned 9, 7, or 5 point values. Only two claims are allowed per character. These characters can be claimed in a draft we will run, GOS/DFC style. The changes are that... In addition each player will get one 12 point votebomb for the first two rounds (this votebomb expires if not used), and then one 12 point votebomb that expires at the beginning of the Elite 8. Similarly the team-up vote is back, if two players claim a team-up character and vote for them it will drop 10 points on the selected character. The Team-up Vote claims can only be made when the draft completes. Lastly, for the first two rounds we're introducing the downvote which will deduct three points from the target's score. If you just plain dislike a given character, this will allow you to hurt them most efficiently, rather than waiting to try and bump them at the last minute. As a note, downvotes cannot be combined with claims, so no downvoting someone for more than three points.

Here it is in the simplest terms.

- 1x 12 Point Votebomb (One for the first two rounds and then one until the Elite 8)
- 1x 9 Point Claim
- 1x 7 Point Claim
- 1x 6 Point Claim
- 1x 5 Point Claim
- 1x Team-up Vote Claim
- Downvoting available for the first two rounds

HOW YOU SHOULD VOTE

However you want. Who would win, whose style looks coolest, which person you like the most, whatever. We're not selecting the next head of state here, just having some fun, and maybe broadening some horizons.

CHARACTER: Roronoa Zoro
SHOW: One Piece
WRITEUP: Santoryu: The Three Swords Style is a style of sword fighting that deals with the wielding of three Katana; one in each
hand and one in the mouth. There are many different techniques for this sword style, including high speed attacks
direct hit attacks and compressed air projectile attacks.
Zoro is the world-famous swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirate Crew who created this style.
Zoro can use three swords, two swords, and one sword styles.
He also uses An enhanced version of Santoryu, learned after two years of training with Mihawk.
Zoro manages to bend his body, and swing the swords in the form of an inverted "S" while performing a vertical spin,
slashing the opponent six times simultaneously.
Even without his swords, Zoro has monstrous physical strength. At a very young age he was able to lift boulders
over his head, and is now able to lift and toss an entire building.
He is skilled in Hand to Hand Combat. and has been known to effectively knock out much larger creatures and opponents
Zoro has also been shown to fight on par with Sanji even without his swords.

Zoro can move at nearly inconceivable speeds and jump at astonishing heights.
He can even dodge bullets with ease. On numerous occasions, Zoro has shown being able to evade (or block)
high-speed attacks and projectiles. These attacks move so fast that it would normally be impossible for an average
human to even notice them, much less evade them.
Thus, Zoro was able to dodge simultaneous pressure shots as well as a laser blast from Bartholomew Kuma,
both of which travel at the speed of light. Zoro was able to evade these attacks even after being heavily
injured from his previous fights.

CHARACTER: Lancer
SHOW: Fate/Stay Night
WRITEUP: A powerful and deadly close quarters combatant, Lancer gets the short end of the stick in the Fifth Holy Grail War. [hl=black]First his magus gets killed and their command seals stolen, then he's forced to serve the big bad, and all the while he is treated like a disposable pawn.[/hl] Like (almost) all servants Lancer goes by his class name, but is shortly revealed when he uses his Noble Phantasm. Lancer is in fact [hl=black]Ireland's famous Son of Light, Cu Chulainn,[/hl] and just like the mythical version he lives to fight. Fortunately Lancers are powerful fighters, and this Lancer particularly so. You see, his Noble Phantasm is [hl=black]Gae Bolg[/hl] and it has two signature abilities. Firstly, any wound it strikes will not heal (at least not naturally, Saber patches up well enough). More importantly when activated, [hl=black]Gae Bolg[/hl] can cause a cause/effect reversal while striking the target's heart. This is shown to be able to completely alter the direction of a strike, pierce Saber's armor, and impale her through the heart. I would stress that Saber is possibly the strongest servant in the Grail War. A dangerous and driven warrior Lancer is far more lethal than he is given credit for, and is one of the most all around dangerous servants summoned in the Fifth Holy Grail War.

[image=http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h364/ACEontheAGB/Ringo.png]

CHARACTER: Ringo
SHOW: Air Gear
WRITEUP: Ringo is the current Thorn Queen of the Sonia Road, having inherited the position from Rika.
Her road focuses on agility and is considered the road with the highest maneuverability, a result from bubbles
of nitrogen formed in her joints by pressure caused by hyperventilation. With Sonia Road, the center of movement
is changed from the knees to the hips, which greatly increases flexibility and nimbleness.
This aspect limits the Sonia Road to women, as only their hips are capable of enduring the Road's demands.
Ringo herself states that her tricks are not as powerful as the Fangs of the Bloody Road,
nor does she have enduring stamina. Fast, relentless attacks are thus key to her victories.
The Sonia Road is considered the opposite of the Bloody Road; instead of tearing the opponent's body,
Sonia Road tears the user's body, sacrificing it so that the Rider can attain higher flexibility.

Ringo's regalia is not a true Regalia. It is a Subregalia called the Thorn Reaper,
referring to its Infinity Atmosphere. When activated, the back wheels of her ATs turn into superconducting whips.
Combined with the agility of her road, these whips can fire Thorns of wind at her enemies.
