Counting cards is a system designed to give the player a mathematical advantage. Its concept is to give the player a solid idea of when the deck contains more high cards. It’s a misconception that counting cards in online Blackjack can let the player know exactly what cards will come next. The only way to do this is by cheating.
It’s a statistical fact that when the deck in blackjack contains more high cards, especially cards with the value of ten, the advantage moves to the player. Once the count is in the players favor, they would then place larger bets to take advantage of the high cards in the deck. It is not a guaranteed system to win every time, but if used properly in the long run you will come out ahead.
When you first start playing you start with a count of zero. You then begin to add or subtract card values to come up with a number that will let you know when the deck is rich in high cards. All cards of 6 and lower will count as a negative 1. All cards of ten values and the Ace count as a plus 1. Cards with a value of 7, 8 and 9 count as 0 and will keep the count the same.
Each time you see a card you either add or subtract from the count. Let’s say we play a hand and you are dealt a 2 and 7. The count would be -1. Since the 2 acts as a -1 and the 7 is zero, the count is -1. Now the dealer is dealt an Ace up which counts as plus 1, the count goes back to zero.
You need to get a little deep into the deck to have a more accurate idea of when the count is in your favor. If you start using it right away, you will not be taking full advantage of the count. Since a Blackjack deck contains more than one deck, it takes a little while to get a better count. Once the count is negative 4 or more, you can then start to increase your bet sizes. Since the deck will have more high cards now, you will mathematically win more often.
