安倍政権が外交・安全保障政策の司令塔と位置付ける日本版ＮＳＣ（国家安全保障会議）の創設関連法は２７日、参院本会議で与党と民主党などの賛成多数で可決、成立した。首相官邸主導で迅速な意思決定を図るため、首相、官房長官、外相、防衛相で構成する「４大臣会合」を新設する。政府はＮＳＣを年内に発足させ、事務局となる国家安全保障局の人選を急ぐ。
ＮＳＣの中核となる４大臣会合は、従来の安全保障会議よりメンバーを絞り込んだ。月２回程度開催し、沖縄県・尖閣諸島をめぐって対立を深める中国への対応や北朝鮮の核・ミサイル問題などを中心に戦略を練る。
