Sang Ho Kim, 63, of Queens is wanted in the shooting two people in Garden City, L.I.

Police have located the vehicle of a Queens man who stormed into a Long Island office building and opened fire Wednesday, killing a former colleague, wounding his old boss, and sparking an ongoing manhunt.

But the suspected killer is still on the lam.

Nassau County police said that Sang Ho Kim, 63, entered the one-story building at 645 South St. in Garden City at 10:10 a.m. and shot the owner and staffer of Savenergy.

The owner was in surgery at Nassau University Medical Center, said Steve Skrynecki, chief of the Nassau County Police Department.

"There was some disgruntlement between him and the company that he was attacking," said Skrynecki, who would not release the names of the victims.

“It seems to be over some bad business deal or some issue with a business deal that they were involved in.”

Kim, who is around 6 feet, 2 inches tall, lives in Fresh Meadows and was last seen wearing a red shirt and brown jacket, police said.

Investigators believe Kim used a handgun to exact his revenge, a police source said at the scene.

He fled in a white 2008 Honda Pilot with the New York license plate FMA3648. According to the source, he took the gun with him. Kim is a former vendor for the company, which imports light fixtures, Skrynecki said.

That SUV was found Thursday morning many miles north near Philipstown in the Hudson Valley, according to police.

The Honda was discovered in Sandy Beach Park by local police, Eyewitness News reported.

The nearby Roosevelt Field Mall and Nassau Community College were put on lockdown for roughly four hours. The seven Garden City public schools were placed on “lockout,” a protocol in which no one is allowed to enter or exit the buildings. The school day proceeded as normal, and students were dismissed at the regular time, according to Cindy Morris of the Garden City superintendent’s office.

Skrynecki said the gunman was not believed to be hunting for other victims and was not in the immediate area of the crime scene.

"There is no suggestion that the perpetrator is looking for other people to shoot," he said. "We have nothing to suggest this individual is on a random shooting rampage."

Still, Skrynecki cautioned that Kim is considered armed and dangerous.

Burt Grant of Metro Area Sales said he’d narrowly missed coming face-to-face with the gunman at a meeting scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

"We had a big business deal ready to get going," said Grant. “If the meeting was earlier, I would have been inside.”

He added that Savenergy is a family company that manufactures equipment in Korea and has a sales office in the complex.

Even if Kim was gunning for his former colleagues, Grant said, he could have been caught in the cross fire.

"If you're in their way, it doesn't matter, even if it was a targeted shooting," Grant said.

A neighbor of Kim’s in his 13 story apartment complex said the suspect lived with his wife and had no kids or pets.

“He's always nice to me," she said, adding that just two days ago he complimented her on her suit.

The neighbor on the second floor, who did not wish to give her name, said she occasionally would hear Kim and his wife arguing.

"Sometimes I hear him raise his voice in there when he's having an argument with his wife," she said. "But nothing wild or out of the ordinary."

The NYPD was on alert for Kim should he return home to Queens. Gov. Cuomo pledged the assistance of state police, Skrynecki said.

Garden City is about 30 miles east of New York City.
