First of all, I am going to apologize for any swearing. I am 14, but I tend to swear a lot. I'm sorry if you are not comfortable with swearing.
ANYWAYS. I don't know if you guys know, but I am in the EITC, and I know tons of people hate on the EITC- I am not one of those fuckasses who will flame everyone who insults the group. But this one person made me quite a bit angry. It all started on this post-
dan1024.deviantart.com/art/I-H… when I tried to have a
reasonable conversation with Animaniacanimemaster. Apparently they weren't going to listen, so I got a bit more angry and since I have a bad habit of swearing, it seemed like I was trying to offend her. I did go into bitch mode later, which I guess wasn't the best thing, but it really irks me that a 16 year old is bitching at me over the internet because of pixels and polygons. Yes,
some people in the EITC can be assholes, I admit, but that doesn't mean the whole EITC is. And, if I can point out, she's a hypocrite because she said she got a
Windows 100% SeeU for free. Now, how could she do that without it being 'illegal'? Oh right, you CAN'T. Because Windows100% is a magazine that you have to
buy in order to get the model, which means, in no way could you get it for free unless you download it from somewhere or a friend sends you a file, which are both against the rules. That's exactly what the EITC does.
I hate to break this to you guys, but, as somebody had already stated, it's the internet. Nobody's going to listen to a readme on their laptop when they already have the model. Hell, most people I know don't even READ the readme! Look at it this way- you buy a board game, lets say Monopoly. Of course, it comes with game pieces and fake money, and you can go on eBay and probably buy even cooler game pieces, but the game also comes with a packet that explains how to play the game and the rules. Sometimes, though, people don't want to listen to the rules and they want to make their own version of the game! I don't see people bitching at them- it's quite the opposite, people usually compliment them and say how intelligent they are for coming up with a new version of the game. Their is only one significant difference between MMD and Monopoly, though- MMD is for free. And it's on the laptop, but that's not really the point here.
Why I want to say is, you distribute a model, go ahead. Sooner or later, though, people are going to trade it, sell it (which not even the EITC likes), or redistribute it. Probably edit it, too. So then you take the model down. So what? People are still going to download the model, they'll just be getting it in means that break your precious rules in the readme. So why bother? The model is already out, if you stop the distribution that will give people and even MORE reason to upload it.
Aha, sorry, i am getting carried away. I am ranting and I didn't even mean to go this far or in depth about this.
It was THIS deviation that sent me over the edge, and it was actually quite immature-
animaniacanimemaster.deviantar… . Now, I am 14, and this person claims to be 16, and do you see how they are acting? They are calling me out in their deviation, and calling me and my friends (and everyone else in the EITC, I am not friends with all of them- I barely know a third of them!) a dickhead, just because we are IN the EITC. I hate that, especially when, in the beginning, I was just trying to have a civil conversation. Just do me a favor and ignore this person- don't hate them or flame them with insults- she'll probably just block you and that would be the end of it. Or report you, which can be worse. But yeah, sorry if I am in an "off" mood, I just am really pissed right now. And I am talking about the American pissed, because in England it apparently means "drunk", and I am most certainly not drunk.
