A Roughly Translated & Limited English version of the PMD Editor
[Partially Incomplete Version]
[link]

Hi all. I know its been a long time since my previous post, and I apologize for keeping you all waiting for such a long time. Between other work and projects + holidays that have occurred these last few months (I'll also admit, I am a victim of procrastination as well), I was unable to find a lot of time to work on this side project.

However, during these last few weeks, I have been able to put aside some time and continue with the translation. There are still some dialogs that need translating, but rather than keeping everyone waiting any longer, I have decided to release the project in its partially incomplete state.

Feel free to repost and comment back with your feedback on parts that still need translating. As I am aware on most of the places that still need translated, the feedback is always welcomed and appreciated just in case I were to overlook any text or dialog messages that still need translating. Any error messages that you receive while working with the PMD Editor (that still display in Japanese) will be helpful as well; while I have translated a few error messages, I feel there are still many that have yet to be translated.

For convenience and to avoid computer compatibility issues, I decided to use the 0063 (SlimDX Update) version for this translation, as the newer PMD Editor versions have been known to not work for certain computers. The 0063 (SlimDX Update) version has been reported as the most compatible version for most computers.

I hope this helps many English users who were once struggling with the Japanese version of PMD Editor! Once again, I apologize for keeping you all waiting for so long, but alas, a downloadable version is here. The download link should be located on the right side of this page (or you can click the following link to download the partially incomplete Limited English PMD Editor: [link]). I'll do my best to try and make additional updates and translations within the next few weeks. Enjoy!

To avoid confusion (although it is included in the readme), I will post some of the limitations below:

==================================
Limitations - Limited Text Space
==================================
Due to not having the official source code, I am limited to the same text length letters/characters that were originally written. If I were to try & force additional letters, the application would become unstable or not launch at all.

Example:
The word "General" can be written with only 2 letters in Japanese. In English, it takes 7 letters to write, thus I am limited to only 2 letters to write "General", which is why the main tabs are only a few letters long.

I will try to find a solution to this issue without causing instability to the PMD Editor, but for now you may see certain words cut off or similar but shorter phrases used for buttons/etc. A list of abbreviations & words will be included in the readme for further understanding on the labels until this issue can be resolved.

==================================
Troubleshooting
==================================
If the PMD Editor fails to launch or produces an error during start up, the following steps may help resolve your issue:

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, please try running the PMD Editor as administrator by right clicking on the PMDEditor.exe file and selecting the "Run as administrator" option.

If the above step doesn't resolve the issue, verify that you have all of the necessary requirements to run the PMD Editor. For this version, the requirements are as followed:

.NET Framework 2.0 (3.5 recommended)
DirectX runtime (if the latest version doesn't work, please try DirectX 9)
Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package
SlimDX (included with PMD Editor)

The following links (URL) are included in the Japanese PMD Editor readme for the above required files (redirected to English page):

.NET Framework 2.0: [link]
DirectX runtime (Ver.9): [link]
Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package: [link]

I don't believe this version can load PMX, since it's an older version.
I have both this version and one of the newer ones that can load both PMD and PMX.
If you want a newer version so you can load PMX models, I can find the link for you.
