２１日投開票された参院選の不在者投票で、老人ホーム入所者の投票を偽造したとして、福岡県警捜査２課などは２７日、公選法違反（投票偽造）の疑いで、同県嘉麻市の特別養護老人ホーム「ひまわり園」園長の吉原正子容疑者（７１）＝同市大隈町＝ら職員４人を逮捕した。同課によると、いずれも容疑を認めているという。
他に逮捕されたのは、事務長の栗田由起江（５９）＝同県桂川町＝、副園長の野見山桂子（５２）＝嘉麻市中益＝両容疑者ら３人。
逮捕容疑は、７月中旬、共謀して、意思疎通ができない８０〜９０代の女性４人の投票用紙計８枚にそれぞれ同一候補の氏名を記入し、偽造した疑い。
