What is the best way to get a travel grant for a non-student?

I want to go to Japan to learn the language, see the culture, and learn cooking techniques, but, I'm broke. I just graduated from High school, I'm not in college yet, and I can't get a job, so, a Travel Grant is my best option (can't afford a loan). Where should I go to get one?

I don't know what kind of grant you are talking about. But you can't get a free trip to Japan unless some people think it's worth to take you to Japan. You have to work and earn money if you want to go to Japan.

No-one is just going to give you money for what amounts to a holiday.

College would be your best bet. If you think you can't handle that commitment, it's a good thing no-one will just give you money.
