Skiing with no ice - level 3

Subtropical heat and a distinct lack of snow isn't going to stop Venezuela's Cesar Baena from skiing to his heart's content.
The competitive cross country skier set out in April to break his own world record for roller skiing and has spent a few months criss-crossing Venezuela on his fluorescent skis.
Baena smashed his record bid, beating his previous distance of 2,306 kilometres by travelling over 2,500 this time, although the new record still has to be ratified by Guinness World Records.
Later this year Cesar will attempt to qualify for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Hopefully, the fact that it's on snow won't hold him back.
Interesting words: distinct (recognisable), content (state of satisfaction), fluorescent (bright and colourful), bid (effort to achieve something), ratify (make something official).
