I don't care what the Japanese say about their MMD models and their bullshit rules. I don't CARE.
*Start rant*
Japan and America have different cultures. What could count as love over there can mean it's friendly over here, that's what's bullshit about no-love rules. Especially the fact that these aren't their characters. They expect us to be "perfect little angels" and follow all their rules. Yet we break the rules all the time. Some have tried to take action against it (~
roco-55 and Q_Ku) but really, you can't stop us from breaking the rules all the time. What's the point, really? We download the models and since they are now ours, we can do whatever we want with them, and yet the ones who made the models still rage at us when we do something they don't want us to do. Here's the thing: These models are free. FREE.
In the movie industry, people buy a DVD. After that, they can do whatever they want with it. Trade it to a friend, download it to their computer, or take the more illegal route and upload it online. They can even post screenshots of the movie online or Gifs. Is taking screenshots illegal? No. It isn't.
MMD is similar. You take a screenshot of something you made with the model and upload it. It's not illegal.
And you know what, It's just HETALIA models that people are always raging about. Whenever I make a Touhou edit, people are like "OMG THAT'S CUTE" or "Nice edit!" or "Well it's against the rules but who cares it's still good!" but anything that had to do with Hetalia is just instant rage material. Put a Sweden model next to Finland? "NO LOVE." Make Taiwan hug someone? "NO LOVE." Make Russia have a fondness for some countries? "NO LOVE." What is with the Japanese and no love anyways? It's unfair that even my own country, America, cannot be paired up with anyone I want him to be with because a Japanese person said I couldn't. No R-18 is fine, No editing isn't very good because I wouldn't want characters to walk around in their WWII uniforms in the middle of 2013, and I can live with no redistributing of the original model. But love in general? That shouldn't be a rule.
Going back to the Touhou edits, I have been on Nico images before and have seen some R-18 material of Vocaloid characters without clothes and even Touhou characters without clothes too. There have been sexual motions made for women. So it's okay for robots and girls with superpowers to be erotic but no boys? Tell me. How many times have you seen a model where a man is naked and has a penis? Now how many times have you seen a woman model naked with nipples and a vagina? I have seen at least 1 model naked of a man and then around 17 or so naked models of a woman. I'm pretty sure there is an unfair balance in material such as that, and yet most of Japan's worries is a man trying to be romantic with someone? It's bullshit like that that's similar in America too.
I have gone off topic for a bit, but I just want to say if I don't agree with something, I'm not going to follow it.

(Not that I use MMD)
